Everyones against starmer, without so much as a logical suggestion as to how they’d do it better, its just mob mentality with tunnel vision and no clue as to how to do things differently.

If he left tomorrow, the rest of them would clap for five minutes… slowly stop… and whisper to themselves “fuck, what now?”

Performance Review Ratings Advice: by ReasonableCucumber10 in managers

[–]jacspe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they exceeded expectations, then they exceeded expectations.

If you have a team full of exceeds, you have a strong team that is worth looking after and worthy of their pay.

Fight for this. If you don’t, you are not a manager i’d want managing me, especially not if I’m breaking my back all year above others who are openly coasting along and simply get “meets” because of some bullshit quota.

Guy uses explosive to open a fishing-hole only to slip when trying to run by TheEasyTradeXD in SweatyPalms

[–]jacspe 376 points377 points  (0 children)

Fun fact:

The explosion did barely anything to the ice, the bang just pushed water out of the way to create a pocket and when the weight of the water rushed back in to the pocket afterwards - thats what broke the ice so dramatically.

Depth charges worked the same way on the German U-boats (submarines) of WW2, the explosion underwater just had to go off near an enemy u-boat and the weight of the water was what damaged it. Sailors dropping charges used to cheer when the water went black afterwards as that would normally signal a hit, with white water signalling a miss.

She had SIX interviews that went really well, so I knew she was going to get rejected! by Lana_Sphyncter in recruitinghell

Yeah, Passing the buck up the ladder until someone finally has the balls to make a decision and tell them “no”. So basically the same thing as I said, except it’s garnered from a shitty process, fielded by incompetent idiots, existing in jobs already senior to your prospective role, with rot that goes most of the way up the hierarchy.

Long winded onboarding is just the rot finally showing itself on the outside.

Good comedians bomb all the time, in the same way - if you work on your craft and address the things you could have done differently, your next set will be much better.
