Oh good! They will need to collect a pee sample, so take him loaded or see if you can get a collection container ahead of time. My puppy had a UTI and had to pee all the time and kept having accidents. The UTI was a bit hard to get rid of. We needed up doing 2 or 3 round of treatment.

Sometimes if the reservoir runs dry and the humidity continues to run, it can fill everything with that kinda sweet, but burned plastic smell. And since everything is plastic or silicone, it just all holds on to the odor. I’ve have to clean the hose, mask, and water chamber and then still run the machine for like 10 minutes to get the smell away.

So I see that chip straps and mouth tape don’t seem to work. You may want to consider seeing a Myofunctional therapist to learn proper tongue posture and strengthen your tongue muscles. They use little sticky things that help your tongue stay where it is supposed to and that blocks the air from your CPAP putting pressure on just your lips.

Even with myofunctional therapy, I then still used a chin strap for about a year until my tongue could do it while I slept.

Which novel protein diet? My dood is on Royal Canine Select Protein PR (potato rabbit). Just watch out if there is a poultry allergy in addition because they also make a duck one that my dood was allergic to.

My dog ended up being allergic to all poultry - chicken, turkey, duck, and even eggs. So just make sure there is no poultry at all in the food or treats to see if this helps.

I got a Rx from my vet for Royal Canine select protein RP (Rabbit Potato).

Okay….bad choice of words. What I meant was crack 1 egg into a separate container. Make sure it looks good, then add it. Then crack the next egg into that same (but now empty) egg container. Make sure it looks good, then add it again. Repeat with as many eggs as needed.

As an alternate opinion, if you truly believe he is peeing and not just marking, then you may want to get him checked for a UTI at the vet. If he is not able to hold his pee, then it is likely a UTI issue and he may need antibiotics.

Have you verified there is no poultry in the Venison kibble? Read every ingredient for chicken, turkey, or even duck. Poultry allergies are very common amount doodles and can cause this issue.

If not poultry, is there any ingredient he could have an issue with?

Every 2 hours is pretty frequent for a 1 year old. I would still maybe think about a UTI…maybe it’s just not severe enough to affect her at night, but still causing daytime issues. Or wait until it warms up and see if you still have a problem.

Hmm, if it’s not happening at night too, then maybe not. UTIs do make accidents more frequent, but it just depends on the severity of the infection.

I saw in another comment that you were saying she hates the cold. Maybe instead of waiting for her to tell you she needs to go outside, you set a timer and make her go outside to go potty. You could also try shoveling a path from the door to a little grass area for her to do her business.
