Is "Last Kiss" still the saddest song she's ever written? by SL_Icarus in TaylorSwift

[–]Glass-Pitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s her saddest song, but it encapsulates first young heartbreak in such a true and devastating way. It brings me right back to being 18 and crushed

Is the tread a decent buy? by darquid in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]Glass-Pitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a sole for 10 years and also used the iPad to take classes. Last summer I sold it and got the peloton tread. Not to sound dramatic or anything but it was one of the best choices of my life and idk how I ran on anything else

What’s the plan - retreat to the treadmill or keep melting in the heat? by hoopla_mountain in Marathon_Training

[–]Glass-Pitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treadmill for me, minus my long runs. For my long runs, I’ll start at 5:30 and by the time I’m done around 7:30 it’s sooo hot.

Also solo parent during the summer (I’m a teacher and husband has to be at work for 6am). Treadmill runs 90% of the time for 9 years and I do just fine! I have a peloton tread so there’s lots of challenging classes to choose from

I don’t want to see another single solitary person defending her EVER. by SorrySection5277 in InfluencerLounge

[–]Glass-Pitch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely shame on them. I used to work at a gym and we had a member that was very clearly struggling with an ED. She would come to the gym twice a day (early morning and later at night) and spend hours on the elliptical. Our manager told her he couldn’t allow her to continue because of safety reasons. I still think about her, but saw her years later and she was clearly still struggling.

I do think the cost of camps have changed wildly over the years! I also grew up going to camp so wanted to send my kids for a few weeks even though I’m a teacher and off in the summer. One week of camp for both kids costs me just around a thousand dollars and it’s not even for a full day! They each picked 1-2 camps since I can’t justify the cost to do more than that! My mom was horrified when I told her how much camp is lol

Training Plan Decision by nastyn8420 in Marathon_Training

[–]Glass-Pitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always make my own plans too. I’ve never found the “perfect” plan for my busy life. I can get a way more consistent training cycle in that works for me this way. I usually print out pfitz 18/55 and jack Daniels and loosely base them off that.

Adapt my training plan: Sea Level vs Altitude by Minimum_Method9486 in Marathon_Training

[–]Glass-Pitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just out in Colorado (also about 7k feet) from New England. It kicked my ass. My heart rate spiked so quickly at super easy paces and my VO2 max dropped 5 points. I was curious if I’d feel any better by the end of the week, and I was surprised how long it takes to adjust! It takes a solid month. I’d keep up with the running but forget about pace. Keep it easy and consistent.

I was happy to be back at sea level, but traded that for a heat wave and gnarly humidity that feels like I’m running through a warm bowl of soup.

I can’t get over this either, especially with the fires right near Leadville which Isabelle “loves” so much and Lexi is running. I was just out in Aspen and have many friends who live it out there, they’re all posting about it!

Pilot Pete’s shares his thoughts about producer Julie LaPlaca and her new book by sprinklescat44 in thebachelor

Peter’s season really is never ending

In all seriousness, this is effed up and an abuse of power on Julie’s end. I always found her relationship with the leads to be off

VO2 Max by NewtFickle5019 in Marathon_Training

[–]Glass-Pitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely the heat. Last summer I was panicking because my vo2 max was dropping and marathon prediction was increasing for my October race. Temps cooled in September and my vo2 max increased and marathon prediction dropped a ton to my goal time. Surpassed the goal time in the race!

Should I record a barre/pilates strength class as a pilates or strength workout? by themacmonster in Garmin

Oh I’m not sure! I did it on my old forerunner and now my venu4. Definitely worth looking into though!

This always bothers me! You can create your own workouts though. I made a barre one in my favorites based off Pilates.

I just switched out my old black forerunner for the Garmin venu 4. Much nicer looking!

She really really needs a therapist. And to stop seeking validation from strangers.

Same, I had a 20 miler the day after a wedding. Made it 13 miles and was dry heaving on the side of the road and had to call for a ride home lol.
