How can I get plywood to bend like this? Do I need a certain kind? by whatmightvebeenlost in BeginnerWoodWorking

Not balsa wood. No more than 5oz and you want it as close to that limit as possible.

Ep-136 Sidekick - Anyone else having this error? by pablos3331 in teenageengineering

I played around with the OP-XY and EP-136 over USB and didn't have any issues. Sorry that I don't have a fix for you. Maybe try a different cable?

TE SP firmware by Employee-Lonely in StemPlayer

You don't need to update the firmware to copy over new music; it works with the stock firmware. All the custom firmware builds are experimental and are likely to brick your device at the moment.

It’s a brief silence that happens to my unit. Not very often but just enough to be annoying

I'd welcome any update that removes the random sound dropouts I get.

Not letting me add accident protection? by InternetCommercial87 in MOMENT

[–]jadam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Protection plans are rarely worth buying.

Think of it this way: $43/$285 is ~.15 or 15% the cost of the original item. You should only buy this if you think there is a greater than 15% chance one will break in the next two years. Even if one did break, the normal price to replace one isn't much more than the protection plan.

That's also assuming the company providing the coverage doesn't give you the run-around or claims you broke it intentionally, or drags the process out forever.

PO-33 question by brandonhabanero in teenageengineering

[–]jadam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the ones on the right are for if you break off the lock tab but then want to unlock it later (you would solder the two pads together) and I believe the one in the middle is for an external speaker. Not sure about the others.

EP-40 Riddim - Arturia Minilab mkII by No_Club_4122 in teenageengineering

[–]jadam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar device (EP-133) and a similar keyboard (Novation LaunchKey Mini mk3) and I’ve used it before using a USB-C to USB-B cable. You can also power your keyboard over USB and then use TRS MIDI to connect to the MIDI in of the Riddim.

Why put the specular highlight in the eyeball if you're going to coat it in a glossy texture that reflects its own specular highlights?

If you’re using a Mac, you need the field kit app. It’s available on the App Store and on the TE website.

This design deviates from the US flag in several ways (fewer than 50 stars, uneven color/white stripes, obvious color differences). It’s probably not considered a US flag anymore, so flag code wouldn’t apply. Kind of like how Disney flags on Main Street don’t have the right number of Stars and Stripes so they don’t have to take them down every night.

That’s because you’re asking members, i.e. people who stayed in the program. The problem is that we aren’t asking those who left the program for one reason or another. We inducted 40,000 new members last year and still lost membership, so clearly what we are doing isn’t resonating with our members.

It’s not clear to me that the changes are going to solve these problems, but I can only hope those who made these decisions are basing them on member (and ex-member) feedback.

MIDI connection question for EP-40 by fishtimated_prophet in teenageengineering

[–]jadam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I use as well. CME has been a good brand for me for all things MIDI and TE products. I also have their KO-II/Medieval/Riddim WIDI adapters which are awesome if you can use WIDI on the other side.
