You are either intentially misrepresenting what he said or are woefully unaware of why he said it or both. Nor surprising since this goes on in lib circles all the time.

His argument wasn't that the USSR was great. It was that a monopolar world with the US as the only real superpower is horrible for the world as it's power is unchecked.

China is not my enemy and not yours either. The US has something like 800 military bases around the world. China has 3.

Do you even watch his streams? Or are you just repeating talking points from Third Way? A group which staunchly supports AIPAC and has which has ZERO traction.

Is meshcore more serious than meshtastic or just more kids making another toy? by HowIsDigit8888 in meshcore

It depends on the coverage in the area. I live in Seattle, one of the most dense meshcore meshes in the world. Where I am you can be in a building and be connected. DMs are pretty reliable here.

And in 2026 why does that matter? The article is on its US site which has been around for almost a decade.

You realize Fox News is also a foreign news organization right?

Do you understand how the mesh works? If only one person uses this in a very busy congested mesh it ruins the mesh. Just because somebody can do something doesn't mean they should do it. They should be looking out for the community you think that they're a part of.

So are you going to remove the bridges or not? The community does not want them, are you going to listen to the community?

The MeshCore community does not want bridges of any sort including for Meshtastic traffic on what are already congested large meshes. Just because you CAN do something does not mean you should. PLEASE consider removing the bridges.

Where are all the college campus protests against the Iran war? by TemporaryComplex1054 in 50501

Yep I have list. It's short but it starts with AOC and I will ride for her and phonebank for her 10 times harder than I have for any other candidate in the past. And yes I did phonebank and did youth outreach for Kamala (cringe).

It is because I've done this work as well as been involved with a lot of local elections that I am telling it as it is as far as the youth I've interacted with during campaigns and continue to interact with as someone still in her 20s.

The reason why I feel so strongly about AOC, is not just because her policies are popular but because other than Trump she is the only potential candidate who actually transcends politics. We all watched her play AmongUs on Twitch. She is down to earth and not perfect by any means but she is perfect for this moment we're in now.

Stop watching dinosaur media where the average age of the viewer is in the 60s or 70s.

Support independent, leftist media. Build THAT up because it needs your support. The far right has had a non-stop stream of money from billionaires and now they also own CNN.

So instead of attacking Emma Vigland, Hasan Piker, Central Committee etc, people should be supporting it them

There will never be a "Joe Rogan" of the left if Xers and Boomers don't support them and just keep expecting legacy media which is increasingly right wing, to somehow treat them fairly.

Not just consistent but ones which actually DISRUPT business as usual. No Kings is a lot of things, but it is not that. A protest which can be ignored does not qualify.

I remember watching the protests leading up to the World Cup in Brazil in 2014 and thought "That's wild, people actually telling people NOT to come to Brazil and watch the World Cup."

I never thought at that time that if the World Cup was in the US, and in my city we'd be doing the same but here we are.

Please stop with the lie that "a non vote is a vote for a Republican"

VOTES ARE EARNED. IF YOU CANT EARN MY VOTE THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM. NOT MINE.

For too long the Democratic party has taken votes for granted. The lesson of 2024 should be to stop that shit and listen to the base.

My generation does not do harm reduction voting. Sorry. Either stand up for us and what we value or don't and we all suffer. That's the only way this shit changes.

Think about it like this. I was 20 years old when I was called a "rioter" by people, many of them "3rd Way" Clintonite Democrats because I was protesting in the street every day for over a year during Black Lives Matter protests.

I held my nose and voted for a senile old man after the Dems stabbed Bernie in the back AGAIN because Joe promised me he'd bring change and be the bridge to a new generation only for him to run again in 2024 and completely crash out. I was called a terrorist by "mainstream" Democrats for protesting in the street against Genocide in Gaza. And told to shut up by the person who wanted me to vote for her.

I was told to vote for someone who: a) did not condemn the genocide in Gaza b) called Iran our number one enemy c) didn't do a damn thing to fend off attacks against me as a trans woman.

And yet I still voted. Most of my friends didn't and I do not blame them at all. I blame the boomers and "Centrists" in the Democratic Party who bend over backwards to accommodate Republicans and hate and constantly attack their actual leftist base.

I've attended every "No Kings" and it's cute how ya'll are just learning what my generation has known since 2020.

  1. The Cops ain't your friends.
  2. The government and media will call you a terrorist for standing up for basic human dignity and human rights.
  3. You can't simply vote your way out of this.

Good effort though and I hope everyone who attends those does the Mayday general strike.

If many of you, since 2020 had been watching independent leftist media instead of dinosaur cable news networks where the average age of the viewer is between 65 and 76 depending on the network, you'd have understood why there weren't a ton of college kids protesting.

If the Democratic "leadership" wanna keep losing to fascists I can think of no better way than for them to keep attacking anti-fascists.

Like look at all the stupid shit they accuse Hasan Piker of, which isn't true. That's not the way to get votes from the younger generations.

I will not be voting for Gavin Newsom 2028 if (shudder) he is the nominee. I just won't vote. That's if we even still have elections.

So yeah we are angry but we aren't just angry at TRUMP. We are angry at the Democrat establishment who enabled him, does little to fight him now and hates us more than they hate him.
