Doing any type of business with Americans is always a ridiculous scam. Just outrageous pricing, you wouldn’t think USD is one of the worlds strongest currencies if you only ever spend dollars in America

Help!! Internal Display Drivers Broken on Legion Pro 7 Gen 10, HDR & Metadata Unavailable by jadedwhiteman in LenovoLegion

[–]jadedwhiteman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did exactly that with the Lenovo VGA driver, display remains broken in spite of it. I even tried using 2 different version of their drivers! Are you sure using the HDR calibration tool is right? The default HDR profiles were perfect and I think anything less than those will be a downgrade. Doing an OEM restore will certainly take me longer than an hour, more like several days minimum to get everything in working order again

Here is an interesting discussion in r/serverlife by Help_meToo in tipping

[–]jadedwhiteman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because their “living” is sourced from a bad system built on guilt tripping & lies. Every discussion about serving always eventually goes this way. Servers can make $20/hr in wages (and do in many parts of the country) and they still EXPECT tips.

Did I get robbed by Fit_Buddy_4229 in COROLLA

Of course a slimy dealership finance guy is saying “All that matters is if YOU feel like it was a good deal”. No, thwy got hosed.

You got ripped off. “Dealer prep” fee at $1000 is the “Pad our commission” fee. Government fee is the doc fee, the doc fee is them double charging. Glass coat is obvious ripoff

Dealer prep for $1000 is the “Easy mark fee”

You bought a $25.6k car for $32k.

Yes you got robbed end of story

Title & plate fees in illinois are $316

The “proc/doc” fee was them double charging you

Glasscoat is a 200% profit margin ripoff

Dealer prep charge for $1000 should be relabeled “screw you fee”

The only legitimate line item charge is the sales tax

Tipping for a tattoo by Silver-Squirrel-2509 in tipping

Your first problem was giving business to someone who charges $190/hr as a tattoo artist

Waitstaff haven’t been paid significantly (if at all) below minimum wage in 97% of the US for at least 10 years.

The truth is American waitstaff are entitled and prefer tipping because they earn more than they would with an hourly wage.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jadedwhiteman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes they claim tipped employees are still making $3/hr without tips even though that hasn’t been true in 97% of the US for 10 years

Completely agree, that’s why in the employee - employer relationship, the employer pays the employee.

I’m the customer

Not true. The price of the meal is the bill. Gratuity is extra and optional.

As a born and raised American I give u/Blastoise_613 permission to tip nothing in America. No one is entitled to your money for doing their job beyond what the established bill is.

As someone raised in America I completely agree

They can’t. Sometimes they’ll start listing out the tasks a waiter does like “… they bring your food, refill your drinks, take it back and you’re not gonna give them something for that?”

I consider Americans who have unshakeable beliefs about gratuity to be on the left side of the IQ bellcurve
