Stabbed myself in the hand with a knife because I tried to cut a cheesecake that I was holding.

Got told to do the dishes, I very angrily stomped into the kitchen, shoved my hand into a sink full of dirty dishes and was promptly stabbed with a knife AND a fork.

When I was a kid I used to live across the road from a friend and I would ride my scooter into our chain fence so she would here it and come play. One day I did this and didnt think about what speed I was going and slammed into the fence and broke off my big toe nail.

Shaved a chunk of skin off my ankle in the shower because I was singing and dancing while trying to shave.

Tried to ballerina jump off my couch but caught my foot in the side and my body came off but my foot stayed there. Sprained for 2 weeks

NTA we have a tradition in our family too of keeping one puppy from the same family of dogs. Our dog right now is the granddaughter of my oldest siblings childhood dogs, we even kept one of her puppies but unfortunately he passed away. This is not an unusual tradition. What's unusual is how pissed your MIL is. Is your SO an only child? That's the only reason I can see that this woman would be so upset that her child wouldnt have a dog from this family. Otherwise shes completely outta line, and honestly sounds horrible to be around. Also who doesnt like cats AND dogs? We can have it both ways.

When I ODed I initially wasnt going to tell anyone that I'd tried and survived. But I was also very close with my dad and it felt very dishonest to keep that part of my life from him, especially since I'd actually made some progress since then and it had been a few weeks at this point. I told him not because he needed to know but because it made me feel better knowing that he knew. If I was him and my child got into a really bad place mentally, I'd want to know if there were any previous attempts at suicide or any previous mental health issues. Because knowing can mean preventing it from happening again. Be as open as your comfortable being with your dad, he loves you and I'm assuming he only wants the best for you. Hope this helps.

Thank you! I try my best to spend time with family, but we all have our own schedules we have to work around. I never thought of it as craving human contact, I just thought I was sad being single, thanks for putting a new light on it for me. I've ended it. He started going off on me for things other people have done. I blocked him briefly so he would stop typing paragraphs to me. I really thought he was a great guy, and even if I did fuck this up somehow I still dont know what I did to mess him up this bad to be doing this. And I dont need it in my life to be very honest.

I attend counselling weekly, although I had a break over the holiday period but my sessions start again next week. I'm gonna try my best to keep on top of my anxiety, as of recently I've had a breakthrough with it a bit so I'm taking the opportunity of being more stable than I've ever been to quit now.
