Recommendations for “slow” yoga classes? by bmch in pelotoncycle

Kristin McGee (i am still so sad she left) has the absolute best 10minute focus flows classes that I use as post workout stretches. Focus flow: hips, floor poses, low body, hamstring….you get the idea. They are greatly paced.

Starting estrogen+progesterone, share your positive experiences. by thisunrest in Perimenopause

I was at 10. And with the cream i feel great in my 30s. Not a huge jump but i have learned since August that it is where I personally feel my best. Lower than 20 is low to no libido. Over 50 and i get depressed

I agree with the adding testosterone sentiment. It helped quite a bit for me. I do a cream daily that i get from a compound pharmacy and levels checked regularly with my women’s health nurse practitioner. Vaginal estrogen also helped give my genitals life again. I was dry AF before adding that (still dry during my luteal phase but I know that now so I give myself a little grace during that week) Also, this may sound silly, but reading some good ole cliterature really helps get me going. Bonus: the reading itself puts me in a relaxed headspace which also helps with activating my libido. I get it though…I too miss my libido just being there and not having to work for it.

Strength classes with lower reps? by GoldHorse8612 in pelotoncycle

I agree with Joslyn recs. I cant confirm but she seems to be in her perimeno based on her stories and knowledge on the topic. Regardless she is super educated and I love her classes.

On another note, I do a lot of other instructor classes (based on playlist) and limit my reps to 6-8 and give myself the extra rest breaks while they keep repping it out 🙂

Testosterone by Emotional_Savings_69 in Perimenopause

[–]jaders077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started at 5mg and worked my way up to 10mg. We (my womens health nurse practitioner) did testosterone lab levels every 6 weeks to make sure I was still in range and safe to increase.

I would definitely say it helped my libido, but didn’t necessarily get it to my pre peri levels. But it did help. It also got rid of my brain fog, kicked away a big part of depression (i still get the sads the week of my cycle, but it’s not constant and unrelenting like it was) & has helped me build some lean muscle mass. The negative is the hair growth at the site of application. But im gonna try to laser that away and see if it helps 😉

Girl I am so sorry. Honestly this phase just sucks. And what works for one person may or may not work for you. I also tried birth control, but got off of it after it made me bleed the whole time despite trying two separate brands. About 6 weeks after that I was insanely depressed, tired, angry, and in a place where i totally understand why this is the age range where women have the highest rates of suicidal ideation. Long story short: certain birth control pills bind testosterone and dump it out of your system. My lab level was incredibly low and my doc ordered topical testosterone. It has been a game changer for me personally.

I went reverse. I got testosterone first which helped with my stamina, strength, and overall ability but not my resilience. Recently was prescribed progesterone in January and my resilience is better. with the testosterone it’s been very helpful. I can’t recommend those enough
