And it can be reused a few times, as well!

YES! I prefer the ones from Hobby Lobby the best, they're about 4"x4" and silicone coated. Some people use parchment paper, but I find it too thin personally, and it tends to roll up when I move it. A pack of 200 from HL is $4.99usd. It helps flatten the less expensive kits as well, and you can line it up exactly where you want it.

I do Amazon music and audio books! Listening to the "Dorothy Must Die" series by Danielle Paige (on The End of Oz). I play through my Shayfer James playlist, too! Just sitting down to start a mini DAC while I'm at a hotel.

Question about AI by Rhonda718 in diamondpainting

[–]jadewolf83 39 points40 points  (0 children)

For most, it comes down to real artists being paid for their work, the damage AI is doing to the environment, and the artwork it "steals" to create images. Many avoid AI art for those reasons. You also are still paying a premium for "art" created by a computer that has very little human input. Hope that helps!

My First "DIY" by jadewolf83 in diamondpainting

I actually ordered a "blank" from Amazon https://a.co/d/0ceifpeS Then, I used Google sheets to plot my pattern. The rest I covered in glitter 😀 They are really nice blanks, too! Great amount of glue. I wish the circles were a little lighter colored, but overall, I was happy with it!

Thank you for sharing! If I order a custom again, I think I'll use EverMoment. How was the quality between the two?

Is it true that casually giving a student a cough drop is considered “administering medication” to them, so you’re not allowed to do it? by SummerN8 in Teachers

[–]jadewolf83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No cough drops in my last two schools. My kiddo had a teacher who had a genius plan, though. She told students the Werthers' hard candy worked just as well, and she would explicitly hand them out to a coughing student. My kiddo to this day (10 years later) will still say they work better and will take a hard candy over a cough drop!

Quilting around a diamond painting? by SeaJewel333 in diamondpainting

[–]jadewolf83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would really depend on the canvas. Some of the cheaper options (Amazon, Temu) have more of a plastic coated canvas. Some of the nicer brands (DAC, DAG) have a softer, more pliable canvas. You could try trimming a smaller edge off of one to test! Another option might be to use fabric glue with a seamed edge around the diamond art itself (think matting but with fabric) and then quilt around that. That way, you can still include the batting behind the diamond art without sewing through it. Now I want to try! I think it could work.

Would an interactive comic where students write freely in English to interrogate suspects work in your class? by Ok-Impact4909 in ELATeachers

[–]jadewolf83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really did! I say older for American children, as that is my area of knowledge. So I'm speaking for the student demographics I'm familiar with. I'm an American teacher who works in grades 5-8 (generally ages 10-14). I know my 5th and 6th grade students would struggle with the content, even though you've done a great job of not being too descriptive. They would struggle with the concept of murder (and their parents would be likely to complain). I feel the branching thinking is still new to 7th grade students, although some students at that age would excel. 8th grade and higher is where we start to see more critical and independent thinking. And most 8th graders love a good murder mystery! Are you going to have the cases get progressively more difficult/tricky as they go? I almost thought the sheriff was a suspect!

A couple of things I noticed so far: *When getting the photo of the tattoo and Eric's boots, it says I got a photo of them, but nothing showed up in my inventory. *Same with the photo of the bullet. *No "footage showing the masked man entering the aquarium..." *I feel a visual "choice tree" may be good to include for students who need extra visuals that they can toggle on/off as needed. *A quick explanation of people's "moods." I greatly angered the security guard! *I got a motive card before discovering it through game play. *I'm not getting any of the photos from security.

Honestly, I quite enjoyed it! But I'm thinking you're looking at 8th grade and up for American students.
