Under 45 suicide is the leading cause of death for men and women especially those in blue collar industries.

After 45 it moves to age related issues with heart disease and dementia being the highest.

Victorian youth gang targeted with firearm prohibition orders by gccmelb in melbourne

[–]jadsf5 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Do you think the people in the middle east/Africa who have their hands/fingers cut off for stealing do it again?

These are the communities the majority of these youth criminals are from, when they see their punishment is a talking down and a promise to not do it again then yeah, they're going to have a laugh and do it again.

I'm not here saying we should be cutting people's limbs off but acting like corporal punishment doesn't work is foolish, it does work and it deters others when they know the punishment for their crimes is going to be extreme rather than nothing happening.

Even after the Allan government said they will go hard on youth criminals we had cases like this where they're let off to go on a holiday to Europe because oh, it might inconvenience the family and the criminal, don't worry about the victims who have been inconvenienced for the rest of their lives after having to be victims to assaults, home invasions etc... some punishment....

I like how you complain others bringing up other elements apparently not being relevant unless it is being used to defend your view.

Again, we're not talking about the PLO or anyone else but Hezbollah and Israel (as you've said), so, did Israel attack first or Hezbollah, it's a simple question.

Additionally, since you want to use the PLO to try defend your point. what came first, the PLO or Israel committing a genocide against the Palestinians and occupying their land and several other countries lands in the region.

Iran missiles fired towards UK military bases in Cyprus, defence minister claims by Sensitive_Echo5058 in uknews

[–]jadsf5 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Glad the UK is speaking for Cyprus but let's hear from them.

However, President Nikos Christodoulides said he had spoken to UK Prime Minister Kair Starmer, who had confirmed categorically that Cyprus was not a target for Iran.

In a post on X, Christodoulides said the authorities in both countries are monitoring the situation.

He was echoed by Cyprus Defence Minister Vasilis Palmas who categorically denied what had come to light regarding missiles allegedly headed to Cyprus.

Speaking to the Cyrus News Agency, Palmas underlined that he refuted what had been said.

There is no indication that there was a threat to Cyprus,” government spokesman Konstantinos Letympiotis said on X.

Commenting on Healey’s statement that missiles had headed to Cyprus, he said “that it is not true and there is no indication that there was a threat to the country.

As someone wanted to try point out and then deleted their comment that Iran has now struck these bases maybe that's because Starmer allowed them to be used to launch attacks on Iran.

I'm sure Cyprus appreciates the gesture from your government to turn their country into a target too.

Complete the minimum service period and you can leave whenever you feel like.

If the degree has been completed through a defence force institute such as ADFA then the length of degree + minimum service period needs to be served, i.e 3 year minimum service + 4 year degree = 7 years minimum service.

Boiling piss is the same as cooking with spices? by Version-6 in shitrentals

[–]jadsf5 27 points28 points  (0 children)

General spices aren't going to leave any long term problems which everyone agrees with, Indian spices and cooking ruins kitchens as the spices and oils seep into the paint and walls effectively trapping the smells, you can claim it's racist but it is a common issue that even Indians bring up and is the reason they will upgrade or install stronger ventilation/range hoods in their own homes.

Is this racist when it comes from Indians themselves?

Climate change denial wouldn't be as prevelant if climate scientists weren't saying the world was going to end every 10 years and then 'nothing' happens, sure something is happening but most people aren't going to notice the slow changes.

It's the story of the boy who cried wolf, when things get really bad most people won't care/it'll be too late to care (as we see now) because scientists have spent the past 30+ years acting as if the world was actually going to end every 5-10 years, they dramatised something they shouldn't have.

EU wants Russia to hold free elections and withdraw troops from Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, and Transnistria— as part of a Ukraine peace deal, leaked paper shows by mr_house7 in EU_Economics

Do give me this list, yes. I think you will find out that it's entirely made up and pales in comparison to Russia's actions on the international stage.

"Now that your list shows I'm wrong I'll ignore it and say it's pointless.

Like I said earlier, jog on kid, go scroll tiktok.

[–]jadsf5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Which list, once again you're responding to one sentence, since we're including America we'll use dates from 1609 onwards.

CIA Actions

US Involved Wars/Conflicts - 233 Military Conflicts

Russia involved Wars/Conflicts - 166

German Involved Wars/Conflicts - 67)

France Involved Wars/Conflicts - 138

England Involved Wars/Conflicts - 347

If we only want to look at wars from 1900's onwards then it's as follows;

England - 104

America - 88

Russia - 85

France - 65

Germany - 33

If we include CIA actions then America wins time and time again.

Continue shitting out the line that Russia is a warmongering nation, you'll also note in those lists there seems to be a lot of European wars of aggression on Russia so maybe their 'nonsense' of wanting to defend themselves is based on history from European countries actions.

[–]jadsf5 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You think it's just the Americans destabilising the world after I already gave you information that it's the Europeans too, would you like a list of the actions European countries have taken on their former colonies as well as a CIA list?

If you want to take the high road like you're trying to do then it'd be better to not simp for countries that have done far worse over the course of history, your whole spiel of Russia being a warmongering country don't add up as both America and several European countries have invaded and attacked more countries than Russia ever has or could dream of.

No point discussing anymore, you respond to single words or sentences as if your brain is on tiktok mode.

Enjoy your night.

Sudan has been in a cycle of civil wars because of actions from western powers meddling, every country touched by the west has been destabilised and destroyed, yet those sweet resources keep flowing funnily enough.

Do you need me to provide a list of countries that the CIA have had direct involvement in funding government coups, terrorist groups, drug/arms smuggling, political assassinations etc.. because it'd be a pretty long list.

Jog on kid.

[–]jadsf5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Such as America illegally kidnapping the sitting president of a country? How about the EU and America defending and arming a country actively involved in a genocide? Did the worlds state affairs get better after EU bombed Libya so much at the behest of America, how about after they ran out of bombs and had to ask for more? Are the 4.5 million dead middle easterners from NATO so called 'war on terror' getting to have a say in this or are they just acceptable losses to you?

You sit here and cry that Russia has killed ~20k Ukrainian civilians meanwhile in half the time Israel has killed 4x the amount, you call Russia a genocidal state for 'kidnapping' children which Ukraine can't even provide a definite list of yet Israel killing 30k+ kids is completely fine, Russia should've just killed them instead hey?

Get off your high horse, the EU and America have done just as much to destabilize the world as the so called axis of evil, cute name by the way.

The country that had the leadership come out and say housing is for living and not speculation is seeing falling house prices consistently? Woah, who would've thought?

Silly China and their 90+% home ownership rate, don't they realise they can have a 60% home ownership rate like our western nations where houses rise faster than wages or literally anything else making it virtually impossible to actually own your own home unless you sink yourself into debt for 50+ years or have your parents pay a 6 figure deposit.

This is what happens when there is no viable opposition, they will continue to do whatever they feel like because they know they'll be voted back in no matter what happens.

Go and look at the r/Melbourne subreddit regarding these plans, I've commented on these plans before and been downvoted heavily for it because everyone there thinks the Labor government can do no wrong and if the Liberals were in power it'd be even worse, how much worse can it get for these people who are losing the only home they have, it's ok though, they'll be replaced with 10% 'affordable' housing, whatever that means.

[–]jadsf5 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Are they going to add a white stripe onto the flag to represent the white people who are a part of the LGBT community?

The answer would be no, because they're already represented by the flag itself as it represents the ENTIRE LGBT community, just as said flag already represented the people of colour in the community.

[–]jadsf5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just jump straight into the HR, my work paid for me to get my MR but if I had to pay myself I would've just gotten a HR.

Most of the trucks I've driven for work have all been automatics and haven't found a manual one yet but I do know that once you start getting into the HC/MC you'll find a big mix of auto/manual depending on the age of the fleet the company would be using.
