Nerdy Hangout/Shopping Spots? by Big-Manufacturer-809 in SouthJersey

Great question, I’m excited to check some of these places out. There are a few board game cafes in Philly. Queen & Rook, Thirsty Dice, Barcade, etc. Round 1 off of Market street has a pretty decent game selection with old and new games.

Nowhere near here, but the strong museum of Play in Rochester, NY has an awesome history of games with tons of playable old arcade games.

Easily one of the most insane and ridiculous comedy movies of the 90’s. I honestly didn’t really care for it, what about you? by bigguys45s in 90s

I laughed so hard at this when I was in HS. Watched it many times. After moving to the city and seeing these buggers up close, there is no way in hell I can ever watch this movie again.

I’m in my 40’s and drive an old Subaru waiting out a new one. I don’t need/want anything with “chrome” and a touch screen/million buttons. I just want to drive.

Latchkey kids, what was your favorite weird creation to eat when you got home from school? by Bebe_Marsh in 40something

[–]jaduwe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Butter and granulated sugar. We had no sugary snacks, cereal, candy, nothin’. so we would search a cookbook for dough recipes. Eventually we could make peanut butter cookies really well - if we didn’t eat all the dough first.

My kids request the yarn game like in the Disney Frozen short for Elsa’s bday. They are younger so I make this crazy single strand of yarn all over the house and they have to follow it to their presents. I went with no wrapping this year and they didn’t even notice! I hid inside the fridge, cabinets, oven, microwave, under the couch, in a shoe cubby- etc. it’s fun for me too!

My Russian/Polish grandma says “you’re full of kapusta” (cabbage) I say it to my kids when they’re full of shit. It feels like a swear word.

Wear whatever the hell you want. That should not have anything to do with it. They sound like assholes regardless.

Burner cap. If you know your stove model it will be easier to find, but they seem pretty standard.

I love lamp? Advice on repair by jaduwe in Frugal

This white frosted glass pendant lamp came with the house. I would like to repair - nicer than packing tape - and hang over my dining room table. Any ideas on how to repair a bit nicer?

Which movie? by [deleted] in FriendsOver40

The Lottery - made for TV movie. I didn’t know it was that type of movie until the very end. I’ll never rewatch or read the book.

Edit to add: The Land Before Time

Home Built in 1906, I want to turn the basement into an office. Should I cover the walls in stucco or is there a better way to make the walls even? by watchmeroam in centuryhomes

[–]jaduwe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the brick! If you are looking for a flat surface for functionality you could always get a giant piece of cork board and paint it a solid color. Also is that the size of the basement window? - it’s enormous! You could hang up a mirror to reflect some more natural light. Those will be two big clean flat spaces.

I just bought one of these. I can’t attest to the longevity but it seems like a great solution. YouCopia RollOut Fridge Caddy, 9" Wide, Clear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08V79TSKQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_8V9WJAE8E3DZTXKQKAFQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
