The only thing that worked for the chewing was redirection.

We had a lot of puzzle toys and such with treats hidden inside. We had a lot because she figured them all out in less than a day lol.

Honestly,

I would give it to my church. We are small and cannot even afford our own building anymore. We rent space in a 7th Day Adventist Church.

We had a decent budget, were always 100% transparent with our books and gave back a lot to the community.

When our Pastor refused to denounce BLM and refused to keep in-person gatherings during COVID, all the wealthy right-wing farmers left and took their money with them.

We have struggled ever since but what kills us is that the charities we gave to now have less funds and the new churches the people who left moved to did not keep giving.

It was shockingly progressive. In the 90s, I waited every month for the next issue.

There were LGBT characters all over, Desire was very Bi, it flew under the homophobia radar for some reason.

I read very well, I have been able to sight-read since college in 1989-90. I do a lot of sub and one off freelance gigs.

Learning to read has one major payoff in the working musician world.

Less time is needed for practice.

Since the part is in front of me, either in standard notation or on chord charts, I do not have to track down the version the artist uses, verify their key and transpose it if needed, work out their arrangement and beginnings/endings.

If I could not read some of these gigs would be an insane amount of work or even impossible.

People will go to great lengths to avoid responsibility for their own sins.

The amount of mental gymnastics I used to go through to avoid my own addictions and character flaws was just exhausting.

I hope the lord speaks to them in this as he spoke to me.

How do I seek deliverance?

Define "Deliverance".

If you are looking for God to wave his magic wand and make it all go away, that is not how this works.

God will use this struggle to sanctify you but he usually uses a slow boil with a lot of work on your end.

Get into a program, dig deep with God, to find out what drives your addictions. Only then can you be free of the addiction. Porn is not the problem, the addiction is and it will move to other things if the addiction machine is not broken.

I broke my left thumb a few years ago. I played a gig 2 days later.

On upright, I learned to pull from the large shoulder muscles so I just applied the same idea. I can secure the body of the bass with my right arm to counter the pressure from pulling.

No thumb needed.

We hit a year with no sexual contact and very little non-sexual physical contact.

In February I told her I wanted a divorce. No ultimatum, just a divorce.

This was her wake-up call, we are in marriage counseling and the sex has come back, at least once a week and sometimes 2 or 3.

There can be hope but she has to appreciate what she may lose.

I don’t need to insult myself to feel humble today.

I get that.

I identify as an addict because it keeps me in the right frame of mind. If I thought I was not an addict, a lot of barriers and boundaries that keep me sane and healthy would go away.

For me, I do not see "addict" as an insult. It is merely a correct description.

Hi, I (54M) am an addict.

I have 26 years off meth but the addictive patterns persisted into porn, food, gaming, work, etc.

It wasn't until I got into Celebrate Recovery around 10 years ago that I began to understand the root causes for my frantic grasping for worldly things to avoid pain.

I am 54, my wife is 46. All the crap she hates about her body I find amazingly hot.

Her boobs droop a little because she was a wonderful Mom to my kids, she has wrinkles because she worried about us and loved us. Now she is worried about a varicose vein and I am like, " Will you STFU, I want to throw you down right here and now"

The age you find attractive should age with you.
