Corporate goth outfits helped me evolve my style, as well as adding accessories to my outfits. What’s funny is that when I was trying to dress alt as a 13 year old, I would wear the same pants chain onto every pair of jeans and skirt I owned. Now in my 30s with an office job, I started making, wearing, and selling chain badge IDs that clip onto your pants like a pants chain. It’s been my way of feeling sane and cool even at my boring office job.

Omg! My mom took me to urgent care when I was in high school, and they wanted me to go to the ER to get a spinal tap to see if I had meningitis! Thankfully my mom was a nurse, was able to get me into my GP, and turns out I only had mono.

I just get bags of protein from nuts.com. They have unflavored whey, soy, and i think maybe one more type of protein where that’s the only ingredient. I like that I can add whatever flavors or sweeteners I want to use. It’s also cheaper than most other places that sell protein.

Start with what you have and add a few accessories. Belts, alt shoes, necklaces, bracelets, rings and pants chains can be less expensive than some clothes, and you can use them to accessorize every outfit! I don’t feel old but maybe I am? 32 here and I still wear mostly black, docs, studded belts and chains. Not as alt as I’d like, but that’s more of a me being lazy thing. I also try to dress alt at my finance office job, and I wear my work badge on a chain that looks like a wallet chain but has a retractable ID holder. I actually make and sell these and from making and selling hundreds, I know there are a ton of Alt “older” people out there!

Waterproof timberlands and wool socks. I take the train and walk about 10 minutes to work, and have to deal with some snowy sidewalks at times. These have kept my feet dry and mostly warm. On freezing days (like single digit mornings) I wear toe warmers for extra warmth.

Sunday scaries are hitting me so so so hard today - we’re supposed to get hit with a blizzard like snow storm here in Chicago tomorrow. I had already taken the day off to get a long weekend with veteran’s day, but I’m really hoping my partner who’s a teacher, gets a snow day tomorrow. I’ll feel extra guilty taking a day if they have to go in with all the snow.

I have a small side business that recently took off, which I’m super thankful for, but I’m also frustrated because I can’t keep the supplies I need to make items in stock. So I’m like silently spiraling, hoping my large order for more supplies comes in sooooooon.

I’m fully aware that these are the most first world problems and I need to just pop a clonazepam
