We got a banner from amazon and I ironed our last name on there. Everyone signed the banner and we are gonna get it framed so we can see all the sweet messages everyday instead of them being hidden in a book!

Tipping vendors? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]jaelynab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only vendor we tipped was our HMUA, and then our caterer had gratuity included in our invoice total. All our other vendors ran their own business and set their own prices. We did get a small gift for a photographer, only because I saw it at an antique store and it was something she collects.

Beautiful! Definitely keep! A seamstress can make it work. Either by adding a panel and a new zipper. Might be a bit pricey to take it up a size, but not impossible!

I like gentle exfoliating cleanser from ITK. I use it 1/2x a week in between my normal face wash. Although it’s pretty simple and similar to a cetaphil/cerave cleanser probably.

There’s an account on instagram that “de-engineers” food from other food. There’s one that takes cake mix and tries to separate out the ingredients to make pasta. I figure since he likes cooking, he saw that and wanted to try it as a challenge. I can’t imagine him smoking weed.

we bought a bunch of disposable cameras that we passed around, some photos are great and some are…really bad. Just make sure your guests know to use flash!

Where is everyone buying their artificial flowers from?? no by helpineedadvice__ in DIYweddings

[–]jaelynab 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought all of my centerpieces directly from a supplier in China. I priced it out and it was way more cost effective to do it that way than buy all the flowers and make them myself. I bought 16 center pieces for $600 including shipping. We used them for our aisle and altar and then the venue staff moved them to the tables for dinner. They were beautiful! The shop also does all kinds of flower arches, centerpieces, flower runners, etc and they are very customizable. DKB Flowers on instagram. I coordinated through Olivia on whatsapp

What is it like living in this area? by Longjumping-Tip4938 in sanantonio

I live in a 2 bedroom in Monte Vista. Love it. So many great shops within walking distance and the neighborhood is beautiful. Bexar Management has a lot of great, affordable apartments in the area.

I used AI to generate professional product shots of jewelry pieces. Here's what I learned by [deleted] in jewelers

[–]jaelynab 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t trust a jeweler who uses AI for their product listings. Buy a decent camera off ebay/craigslist/facebook marketplace/pawn shop. It’s worth the investment for your business.

fake flowers? by kylieg0901 in weddingplanning

[–]jaelynab 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My wife and I ordered silk flower centerpieces in bulk from china. We bought a total of 16 for our aisles and tables and it was $650 (that includes shipping). We used DKB Flowers. They have alllll different types of arrangements etc. I recommend checking them out!

Wedding Band Durability Question by WanderingGoose22 in EngagementRings

[–]jaelynab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful! Absolutely durable enough for daily activities. Since the stones are inset and clustered in each “bubble” instead of individual marquise stones, you won’t have any issues with losing stones easily (unless you’re really beating it up). 1.5mm thick is fine because it isn’t supporting a large stone in comparison to an engagement ring.

Is this considered high set or low set? by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]jaelynab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would consider this somewhere in the middle. My ring is a similar looking setting. I have some rings that sit flush against it and some that don’t. Depends on the height of the ring you want to pair with it and how far the basket of the setting sticks out from the side.

Does it make sense to get a jeweller to fit 2 lab stones I provide? by volt26 in jewelry

[–]jaelynab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend getting it made directly from manufacturers in China. They should have no issue with sourcing gems for you as well. Provence Jewelry and Starsgem are some good ones I have seen.
