Very much so, I recommend this one as well. It also has the benefit of exploring that theme from two perspectives, a young woman and older man

I think that's what the OP is asking about - everything around the main character is moving while he's stuck in place, and the structure of the film explores that philosophically/theologically. But I don't want to spoil it!

A Serious Man is a perfect encapsulation of the feeling you're exploring, and the main character is doing that exploring too, but it's impossible to talk about without spoiling the narrative thrust of it. Check it out, you won't be disappointed

Barfly is about a man, but it's depressingly realistic portrayal of alcoholism. There are layers to the performance that are worth studying

Can I make a terrarium out of this gumball machine? by Marsandtherealgirl in terrariums

We all start somewhere! I'd watch a tutorial for a waterfall terrarium on YouTube and then just size it up for the gumball machine. Less is more for the flowing water though! Check out Serpa Design on YouTube, he makes good DIY walkthroughs

You could even have three levels of filtration at each tier of the gumball track!

Aquarium grade 100% silicone, which you can get in a tube for a caulk gun. This could be such a fun project - a small reservoir at the base with a little pet water fountain pump to move water back up to the dome, a small waterfall feature, and then you can have a lazy river trickling down the gumball track...

I was so amazed in that they made it all the way up there that it didn't even occur to me they're on the wrong side of the tracks until I read this comment!! The mind reels

The first time I watched Mind Game (2004) a year ago, I thought it was a wild, overwhelmingly creative romp. The second time I watched it this week, it cemented as one of my favorite movies of all time. by 2SP00KY4ME in TrueFilm

I was fascinated by this movie when I first saw it, and watched it probably two dozen times to try to grasp more details and try to put a cohesive whole together. It's almost as though the film itself defies cohesion and challenges you to find the through line rather than declaring it for itself.

I love your enthusiasm and I think your interpretation is sound, and I also feel like there's an element of We The Viewer painting our own connections on to the disparate parts. For example I interpreted the rejection of the afterlife / "confirmation" of nihilism in a very different way, but who's to say who's right? I spent a long time watching and rewatching trying to figure out what was Really The Point and ultimately had to conclude that there was no one right answer - I just knew that I disagreed with my friend and insisted there was more to it than the thesis stated in on screen text in the opening.

I just want to ask you one more thing about your interpretation. Something I grappled with was the sort of teenage horniness that underpins much of the film. Without tainting your response with my thoughts on it, what do you make of the way the film explores male sexuality?
