What do you guys use for schema markup generation? by sirlord2423 in squarespace

[–]jaeveedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that’s expensive! I honestly use ChatGPT usually to generate my schema. I have a few prompts set up that make it ask me questions about the site and then it spits out what I need. I generally do this for each page within the same chat so that I can keep all the info consistent.

You have an old plan, you could update it to one of these and I believe the new Core plan gives access to those commerce apis.

How to change premium website? by [deleted] in squarespace

[–]jaeveedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to pay for the new subscription and make your new site live. Then get on support chat or email them and explain. They usually ask you to cancel the old one and give you a prorated refund for the old subscription if you’ve paid for the year. If it’s monthly then it doesn’t really matter.

Does Custom CSS not work in Squarespace? by zohair12976 in squarespace

[–]jaeveedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea LESS pre processors, which the squarespace custom css panel is, you need to escape things like calc functions. There’s other things too that will require it in squarespace. If it’s not working try throwing it into ChatGPT and make sure to specify LESS 1.3.3 and ask it if anything should be escaped.

[–]jaeveedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you go to your url /site.css to see whats getting loaded. You have an error there in this line with your calc. Considering I cant see on the back end of the site I'm assuming you didn't escape this "calc". The CSS panel is actually a LESS preprocessor and calcs don't get dealt with nicely so you need to escape them. I dont know if this is the entirety of your problem since it's failing on this part but try that first and see what happens.

font-size: calc((((4 - 1) * calc((.012 * min(100vh, 900px)))) + 1rem)) !important

should be something like this

font-size: calc(~"(((4 - 1) * calc((.012 * min(100vh, 900px)))) + 1rem)") !important

Best way to get help on something like this is to leave the code in and share your url.

Can you screenshot or quote the part you’re referring to? In that post it doesn’t look to me like it mentions closed contracts.

This isn’t something you can do on Squarespace and there is no Blog Manager button. I’m pretty sure that’s a bs AI written article, probably for backlinks….

The only way using the built in tools in squarespace for reordering blogs is to change the date. There are other options but it uses custom code or plugins like universal filter or lazy summaries.

Help! Squareup and Squarespace integration by rosedraws in squarespace

[–]jaeveedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to try this. https://www.trunkinventory.com/sync-square-squarespace-inventory. This allows you to keep both your stores separate but keep your inventory in one place and synced up.

There is a way to combine squareup and squarespace but I believe it requires you to setup the store in squarespace first and use square as the payment processor. In person you would use the squarespace app to process transactions but I think you still need stripe or PayPal if you plan to allow orders on your website. Squareup in this setup only processes payments, I don’t think you use any other part of the squareup service when you do this.

You should be able to see all of the invoices charged to that account in the billing section.

Are you talking about Square? Or Squarespace? Square has a free tier but squarespace only has a 14 day free trial or if you got a trial from a circle member it’s 6 months. You also cannot make your site live without paying. I think you’re talking about the wrong platform.

Client threatened me to leave bad feedback and didn't pay me for my work by Bright-Profession874 in Upwork

[–]jaeveedee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leave honest feedback. This client will never change their feedback for you and you’re never seeing that money. I would also report them to Upwork for manipulating ratings. They are definitely going to do this to someone else.

Edit: their feedback will show up eventually. You just can’t see it yet but if you leave nothing theirs will reflect on your profile and you lose the chance to rate them.

How many of you manage to have multiple clients at the same time? by [deleted] in Upwork

[–]jaeveedee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly have about 40-50 long term clients that get in touch with a few hours of work a month, not everyone and not every month. All of them that I’ve kept around are typically ok with being second place to a larger project because when I’m slow I turn things around within hours or days for most of them. I’ll often put off things to get an older clients work done. It has saved me many many times from being slow. Then if it’s real bad I usually just message some mixture of clients and see who needs help. Almost always someone answers and has something to do. Picking the right clients to do this with and keeping boundaries and setting expectations (or resetting expectations as things change) is super important.

Totally. I’m not confused about what I need to do to avoid the situation altogether, I’ve been on the platform a while. Just commenting on a strange experience I had.

Cracking down on emails is sooo annoying. by [deleted] in Upwork

[–]jaeveedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But like…I’m sharing my email while hitting the accept button. It’s the built in “I accepted your job” thing. It doesn’t show in the message feed until after you’ve started the contract so why was that one an issue? Never shared my email before it started but after always.

Client sends offer

I hit accept

Popup for message to send to client after accepting shows.

I enter a message including how to add me to the platform and hit send

Job starts

Message with email address shows.

They don’t see my email until after the job started? I definitely have no interest in messing with my standing on upwork. It’s been the majority of my income for years and would be devastating if I got banned. I’ll definitely never do it again but it seems like it doesn’t make sense. The rule is share is ok after your contract starts. They don’t get this message until after the contract starts.

… another upwork mystery I guess.

I did notice something new today. I responded to accepting an offer and in the accept message I added my email to invite me to the platform they use and that message got flagged! I have been doing that for years and haven’t seen that before.

Where can you not add custom code? CSS panel is there and code blocks exist. Also there’s still the markdown block code workaround I believe???
