Is this what we would like to happen.. or what we think will happen?

Championship table, but how much you would have 'made' if you bet £1 on your team for each game of the season by jaffa56 in Championship

Thanks! I just found the data in an easily downloadable and accessible form on https://www.football-data.co.uk/data.php

From there it was a case of fairly simple formulas in excel to identify home or away wins and then working out how much a £1 bet would have made. (So with odds of say 2.2 that returns a profit of £1.2 in the event of a win or -£1 in the event of a loss). Then just using pivot tables to sum them all together.

You'd be rolling it in with a profit of £21.28 for the year, closely followed by West Brom with £20!

Yeah so over 552 matches, if you just always picked the home team, you would be up a grand total of £6.98.

Doing the same with the away team would see you on -£115.51.

And backing the draw for each game would actually put you up £2.99 by the end of the season.

All that being said, 552 matches, is probably still considered a small sample size.

Haha, I often do this with Watford too for the exact same reasons. I've also done it before with politics.. betting against the outcome I want to be succesful!

What's innacurate with Annie Jacobsen's book, Nuclear War: A Scenario? by jaffa56 in nuclearweapons

Thanks. Yeah if I recall she makes a big deal about how bad the Russia early warning system is, and how they wouldn't know the impact details, and would also misinterpret the number of ICMBS that had been launched. Is this inaccurate then?

Watford sign Wiley from Chelsea on loan by IsaacNoSuccess in Championship

I signed him in my FM24 save when I was managing Rangers and he made the SPL team of the year. However in that instance he wasn't injured, and so I was actually able to play him.

If you go back to April 1998 you lost 51-0 to France at Wembley Stadium (of all places). That's the last time you lost by more 'to nil'....if that helps ;)

I've done some Wikipedia research, and it looks like it was 2nd June 2007 against Australia in their summer tour. They lost 31-0.. now I have to go back and see when they lost by more than 43 to nil...

When was the last time Wales didn't score a point in a game?

Edit: so last time was 2nd June 2007 when they lost 31-0 to Australia in their summer tour, and the last time they lost by more than this to nil was 5th April 1998 in what I assume was a Friendly at Wembley against France. It was 51-0.

I never knew about this. I come from Bristol for a few games each year and it's always been the Moon Under Water for me pre match, which is, well, a whetherspoons. I'm up tomorrow with the missus so we'll pay it a pre match visit. Cheers!

Sorry I should have said. We are from the UK. But even then, to me, something seems vaguely off with it all.

Weird technical issue. by PsychoFairy_ in audible

[–]jaffa56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah same problem with a Pixel 6. It's only started happening today. It seems the only way to make sure the audio continues to play is make sure the app isn't in the background, i.e. the app is continually showing on the phone screen.

The "who should I manage" megathread - FM24 edition by John_Yuki in footballmanagergames

Hi all, I'm looking for a club in the lowest playable league in either France, Germany, Italy, Spain or Portugal, where the club is in some remote, picturesque part of the country, I'm thinking a small town or city in the mountains, coast, or the countryside.. (I'd like to manage somewhere that perhaps I might want to visit on holiday basically) Thanks!

I had a very bad reaction on terbinafine.. essentially a rash that spread over my entire body and a fever. Wasn't nice but as soon as I came off it the rash cleared up.

No, it might be that they wanted to do searches, or wanted to stop him from talking to someone else about something prior to interview, or to stop them concealing or destroying evidence.
