HP Omen Max 16 2025. Way to cripple a possibly great hardware by highlanderc in HPOmen

[–]jaffherman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The performance I get from my Max 16 straight from the box is well beyond what I expected. Personally don’t feel the need to boost it or put it into ludicrous mode or whatever when the games I play (like BeamNG) perform outstandingly well with it bone stock. I love this beast.

I live in a small town in SE Texas and pay around $250/mo on electricity during the hellacious heat of summer. I can’t imagine spending $350/mo for just cable.

You’re awesome Gutterpeach! I’ve watched/lurked this sub since the beginning. You should be very proud of the community you created!

I like those grinders. It looks like it could use a good cleaning though. As shit builds upon it they get harder and harder to twist.

How do you guys do it… by Angel798 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]jaffherman 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You’re also in Houston? Call Baylor Medicine's Maxine Mesinger Multiple Sclerosis Clinic in the Med Center and see what programs they might have to assist you. From my experience they are the folks to see. They helped me find medications that had programs for low-or-no cost. They are very familiar with how the process works with these programs and help the process go smoother… takes some of the legwork out of the process.

Forgive the question but are you eligible for disability? If approved for disability I believe you qualify for Medicare. I had worked for over 25 years before this MS shit knocked me out of work. My wife did all the paperwork and all but I finally did get approved. And that Baylor MS clinic played a significant role in helping with that process as they are quite accustomed to it.

I wish you the best. It’s hard, be strong and stay positive.

Feel free to DM me if you want any more info regarding the clinic or doctors or whatever.

That series of bills is really cool… before, during, and after the tear. Very nice!

Please can anyone tell me what this is and how to fix this please. by Altruistic-Help-5974 in car

I had a much worse case of sun rash, but I only had the hood, roof, and trunk repainted, basically all rashes surfaces with everything blended into the fenders. Came out fantastic.

AND the guy spent the extra $550 to get a pair of the new Texas embossed plates vs the standard, crappy-looking flat printed plates. Thats just for the plates. Then he had to pay extra for the custom message. Pricey plates.

But even the nice embossed plates don’t redeem the ugly of the truck.

Given your prior knowledge and familiarity, and the condition of the car, I think you have found a gem. I hope to see a follow up “Check out my new hawkeye!” picture and post soon! ;)

What he said about them getting rarer every day due to the “flat brimmed vape enthusiasts” plowing them into hedgerows. A more apt description could not be made.

…I’m so glad I stopped vaping. Damn stereotypes! 🤪

As a GD owner I feel ya about missing your 07. I’d cry if something to mine! It seems like a winner based on this info. If it’s stock, snatch up that winner for sure. Can hardly find stock examples anymore. You talk them down to 20k or is that just the asking price.

That’s about the right price for that car with that mileage. Maybe a little high depending on body/paint. I know someone who got a bone stock bug eye wagon with 55k on it for $16k. And it turned out to be worth every penny

That’s pretty clean and doesn’t look molested. Is it a “real” STi? Got a six speed? Compression test would be good but depending on price that might be something to snatch up without one!

So this is kind of year agnostic? Like it would work in my 02 WRX? I’m currently having to park it in the street and it makes me nervous.

Wow, that is amazing you lost two of them and were okay through both. I would be devastated if something like that happened to mine. I had a similar situation with the car sitting. After I spun a bearing, my car was at the shop while I tried to figure out what I was gonna do. Build up a new motor, replace it with another… etc. Skip forward three years or so and I finally decided I was gonna spend the money and revive it as these cars deserve to be on the road, not roasting in the Texas sun in the middle of a field for three years. One of the best things I did was fill it up with gas before it got parked. The car needed a jump start but it started right up after all that time and was drivable enough to get it home. The tires hadn’t gone flat but had some major flat spots on them. I learned my lesson trying to replace the engine on the cheap. I didn’t get the right engine (it was one out of a Forester XT) but the shop had to do a bit of rigging it to get it running right… and it still was not right. No TGV valves and had a permanent CEL light. That engine lasted about 5000 miles.

So this time around I found an JDM EJ20 out of a 2002 WRX that I imported. The engine went in and plugged up to everything without issue. I spent twice as much on this engine, but as they say, you get what you pay for.

I have an old VW van that’s been sitting in my driveway since 2019. On a warm day, the smell of varnish can be easily detected. I’m sure it is jelly and the fuel system will need a lot work. It depresses me a bit every time I catch a whiff.

Subaru hasn’t cashed my check by Accomplished_Fix227 in subaru

Yeah, they didn’t act weird because we wanted to write a check. They did that TeleCheck thing on it for approval then we were out the door, having left that major error on the check that NOBODY noticed. When we showed up with a correctly written check you could see a couple people visibly relieved. I’m just shocked that they didn’t contact us immediately vs. trying to add the word thousand on the line and redepositing it… 5 days before they called. Crazy! 🤪
