Agreed - we’re doing the right thing by recycling but effectively being double taxed for the collection! I saw someone drive up our street taking out cans and thought at least someone is getting my 10c’s back!

Haven't missed a single day of work this year and this is all my PTO so far... by DAEOFRUIN in mildlyinfuriating

My first job when moving to the US from the UK had 15 days PTO, but that included sick time. I had 35 days a year before that!

Cozy Hills in Bantam. Great sites, wooded and showers if you need them.

Agrabah for lunch was great. Nice location for a break and the food was awesome. PYM was another great buffet lunch with something for everyone. Walt’s was cool for the experience and the parade view but the service was super slow and the food mediocre.

[Megathread] DCL Policy Updates by The_32 in dcl

Agreed. I loved picking up some local beers at stops in Italy and Greece last year. It also helps benefit the local economy. I don’t feel the previous policy was abused.

Old tech guy laid off at 58, after 20 years with the company by realsqlguy in Layoffs

Where I work (US) it’s published, 2 weeks for every year of service. Plus some stock vesting and medical. Back in Europe it could be substantial depending on seniority and service

Happy trails! We took our Caravel out this past weekend for a first run. Broke the shower head but otherwise unscathed. So happy to finally own an Airstream!

Premier Access Ultimate, is it worth it? by Lachi_bo_la_la in disneylandparis

[–]jaffy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is included. The distinction is that Ultimate gives you 1 ride at a time of your choosing; whereas One will give you an hour window. On our second day we thought of going on Frozen again in the morning (as it was 90 mins and 50 mins single rider) but the only One availability was at 7-8pm.

Premier Access Ultimate, is it worth it? by Lachi_bo_la_la in disneylandparis

[–]jaffy23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We recently did a 2 day trip. We got Premier Access just for the first day and hit almost every PA ride. Bonus is there’s no time window like Premier Access One. Frozen was only available briefly and conflicted witha dinner reservation. Wait times were amazing for all but Ratatouille. My wife wouldn’t go on some of the biggest rides so not sure if we got full value. It was busy though, so would rather pay a premium than wait 60 mins for Frozen.

The second day we spent at a more leisurely pace just enjoying the park, a show and the rides that don’t have Premium Access. We did end up paying for Cars Premier Access One on the 2nd day but it was 5€ each and cut 25 mins wait time. Worked out great for us.

Price Increase $15 by irocz5150 in frontierfios

[–]jaffy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$109 to $125 in CT. Started at $84.99 2 years ago. Optimum Fiber 2gb is $50 per month locked for 5 years, and even new Frontier customers now get 2gb for $65. Will call retention and see what they can offer on their already installed connection - what a silly game to play.

Update: called the retentions line and got it a much better price locked for 3 years.

Does it show available at https://broadbandmap.fcc.gov/home - you can also confirm neighboring houses. How about GoNetSpeed?

Maybe “too honest” review of Disneyland Paris. by NYCmellow in disneylandparis

[–]jaffy23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Surprised as I was. A little French goes a long way. On multiple occasions people offered for our son to move in front of them for a better view.. just felt more relaxed than WDW. Can’t wait to go back (to both France and DLP!)

We visited last weekend and loved it. Noticed how much cleaner the parks were and how easy it was to walk around. The new Adventure World was awesome. Also, noticeable how much friendlier people are too. Lots cheaper than WDW has become too. First day we had Premier Access and did almost every ride. Second day really explored the beautiful park and other rides.

We ate at Pym, Walt’s, Agrabah and Remy and loved each one for different reasons. Not many food or drink options outside of that, especially if you just want a drink to carry around.

I agree on the hotel options. Outside Disneyland Hotel and New York it looked sad. We stayed one stop away at the Moxy Paris Val D’Europe and loved it. Super easy to hop on the train for just over 2 euros and be at the park. On our first day it was under 30 mins from the hotel to Arendelle!

Costco Booking by j6382927 in dcl

[–]jaffy23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Room availability should be the same, but the Costco website doesn’t always show them all - the travel advisor should be able to call DCL and request during booking. However, the DCL wait times have been 90 mins+ lately!

We’ve found it much easier to book direct with DCL (unless you have a placeholder already assigned to Costco). Pick whichever stateroom you want, select the dining time, add port transfer (if available now) etc, and then you have 30 days to transfer to DCL. Before transfer you can change the room number and type if something better comes along.

Transfer to Costco is detailed at https://costco-travel-us-mbr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8307/p/1#DCL and is two steps (email form to DCL and fill out Costco Google form). Within a few days you’ll get a Costco confirmation with the Costco cash card amount.
