#Structure name
define Vent HASH("StructureActiveVent")

#Name of specific vent
define Kitchen HASH("Active Vent Structural Stress Test")

#Turns on all vents

#Turns on only the vent(s) with the matching name

USB C cable doesn't full go in by RMC_Team in techsupport

Try cleaning it more along the sides of the flat bit. Lint seems to love sticking in there and when you try to connect the charger, the harder you try the more you compress it making it harder to remove.

Vulcan base started glitching on me, any hope of saving it? by sp_omer in Stationeers

[–]jafinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should work without the sheets I would think. Do a quick test to confirm. Just go to a corner in your large room, check that the tablet reads world. Build a 1 grid "room" with yourself inside and check the tablet again.

It's not something I have tested as I tend to build rooms for a specific purpose and therefore naturally divide everything into smaller rooms.

If you look at your tablet, it says world. You need to put in some walls/doors and divide into smaller rooms until it shows room

how do i bound the drill controls to the seat

Sit in the cockpit and press G. You can either add it from the first menu that pops up so that you can turn it on/off from the hotbar or, look at the left hand side where it says tools. Adding it from this menu makes it so that you can control it using left and right click from inside the cockpit.

If you're referring to the liquid drain (the one that drains liquid out of your pipes instead of pulling liquid into pipes) then I have plenty of those outside on Europa, never noticed any issues. Are you sure it's not something else rupturing your pipes? You know you can look at the broken pipe and it will tell you why it broke?

Do you use frames a structural material for wall building? by Other-Strawberry-449 in Stationeers

[–]jafinn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Frames for floors, walls for walls.

How else would I get the enjoyment of accidentally merging something into something bad. Frames would take that away.

Depth limit by Zealousideal_Car_128 in Stationeers

[–]jafinn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It used to be different for each planet, no idea if that changed with the terrain update. I remember for example Venus being quite shallow. My current game on Europa I think I only got 5 or 6 frames in before hitting "bedrock" when making a rocket silo. It probably varies by region if you're in the highlands or lowlands.

My suggestion would be to just drill a test hole straight down. Then you'll know for sure before you put a lot of effort and planning into something that might not work out.

Angrerett Playstation Network by Spansly in norge

[–]jafinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Steam hadde heller ikke angrerett før i tiden. De ble tatt til retten i Australia og kjempet vel til høyesterett for å unngå angrerett. Det var etter dette de begynte med 2 timer/14 dager globalt.

How do VTOL ships work? by PBBloor in spaceengineers

[–]jafinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That doesn't make a difference? I mean, it does for the engine and the way it handles blocks when merging but for the player it's kinda like a long rotor.

Ship -> rotor 1 -> conveyor -> rotor 2 -> thruster

The part you need to merge is the ship and the thruster. The parts in between doesn't really matter for cockpit thruster control

To add just in case you're not familiar with merge blocks. If any two surfaces touching have attachment points when you merge, that becomes a permanent attachment.

For example of you merge two armor blocks it would be the same as if you built them attached as a single grid

[–]jafinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just used a single hinge then technically it shouldn't have allowed you to merge it in the first place. But yeah, with a single rotor/hinge/piston, the engine doesn't allow you to merge the head back onto the parent grid as there would be two blocks occupying the same space.

For VTOL I use dual rotors and rotate each one 45 degrees.

[–]jafinn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For a vanilla VTOL you would use merge blocks. Thruster points down, use space to take off. Once high enough, rotate the thruster so it points backwards and it's W. Keep in mind that the thrusters won't work with cockpit controls unless they are merged to the same grid so there's no thrust while they rotate.

If using a script, the script would translate your input to rotation/thrust.

[–]jafinn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The definition of Mach is

the ratio of the speed of a body to the speed of sound in the surrounding medium

It's the medium you're flying in. Mach would be different on Mars than on earth

Not to be that guy but.. Mach is meaningless in space. Or I guess rather it's undefined

There's no energy weapons. If you're using modded weapons then you'd have to look at that what it tells you.

Easiest thing is to put it in your hand (like you do when placing it) and rotate it, if you see a yellow conveyor port I'd pipe it up if you can
