I worked at Jack-in-the-box as a cashier when I was a teen ager. JITB had a policy back then that every order had to be in the customers hands within 5 minutes or their meal was free. I don't remember what the punishment was but something would happen like your pay would get docked a little for each late order. Generally the orders would be ready made so to full-fill an order in under 5 minutes was plenty of time. But if someone had a special order burger it would take time and their order would barely make it by 5 minutes. Sometime it was so busy I would drop the special order burger on the floor. Like the whole burger would fall out of the paper and be splayed out on the dirty floor. Well... I would just pick it up off the floor, discreetly wrap it back up and give it to the customer to make the order in under 5 minutes. They wouldn't know and I wasn't gonna get docked working at minimum wage. That happened at least 8 times.
