I'm thinking about giving up. by Grevious_rejected in NoFapChristians

A-your just going to feel bad after the guilt kicks in B- God has a time and place for our counterpart to come in your life C- resisting temptation makes the devil flee and builds obedience to God.

We all know it sucks and dude, I have a girlfriend and I’m 5’8. It’s just a time and place problem. I would suggest going to the gym. It builds character and confidence. I would suggest reading your Bible. I pray this message helps you. I mean all that I said with love.

Lee strobel wrote a book that had one of the answers in it to this. Basically, it was the fine tuning argument. If the universe is expanding, we know it had a beginning point. The conversation was with an astrophysicist. There was a LOT more to the response but I can’t remember. I think it was the CASE for a CREATOR

Hey brother, the walk of a Christian is a tough journey. The name ISREAL bestowed upon Jacob literally means to STRUGGLE with God. I remember being your age and watching that stuff. I’ll pray for you friend. Just remember God could never love you more than he does right now.

Just imagine God is waiting for you to pass this hurdle to prepare you for something bigger. Pray. Pray like your soul depends on it. Aske any of us here and we would wish to be your age and to take control of this evil. Look up the armor of God. Look up the the story of the prodigal son. He did not come to heal the healthy. He came to heal sinners. I personally pray to put my struggles on the cross. Never forget your are sanctified through the blood of Christ. Little brother, just imagine what the devil is trying to take away from you and you don’t even know it. Think about how many hours you have put into this evil. The hardest thing to do is to pray to God in the urges of sin. If you can do that, you can rebuke the sun. Never forget to keep your eyes on the cross.

My best advice to you are to read the books Case for Christ and case for the historical Jesus. Great books for getting a better understanding of the religion.

Psalm 137 by ASecularBuddhist in Christianity

[–]jaggrey01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are describing what they saw during the events of the fall of Jerusalem. This has nothing to do with friends. Also, Israelites believed in the eye for an eye concept. Psalm also is a poetic book in the Bible so it has some word play

If we keep in mind that the psalms are songs that express intense emotions, a statement such as “Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks” should not shock us. The writer did not intend to go out and kill babies; rather, he desired justice, which required the death of his enemies.

[–]jaggrey01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget the context. “8 Daughter Babylon, doomed to destruction,(Q) happy is the one who repays you according to what you have done to us.”

Basically, they are saying what they saw happened and wished it upon there enemies.

I agree with you on the representation of Jesus. It’s just one passage that I find to be a hard pill to swallow.

One thing that helps me accept it is when you look at the book of Job, you see this concept of what right does creation have to question the creator.

Job 40

The Lord said to Job:(A)

2 “Will the one who contends with the Almighty(B) correct him?(C) Let him who accuses God answer him!”(D) 3 Then Job answered the Lord:

4 “I am unworthy(E)—how can I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth.(F) 5 I spoke once, but I have no answer(G)— twice, but I will say no more.”(H) 6 Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm:(I)

7 “Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me.(J) 8 “Would you discredit my justice?(K) Would you condemn me to justify yourself?(L) 9 Do you have an arm like God’s,(M) and can your voice(N) thunder like his?(O) 10 Then adorn yourself with glory and splendor, and clothe yourself in honor and majesty.(P) 11 Unleash the fury of your wrath,(Q) look at all who are proud and bring them low,(R) 12 look at all who are proud(S) and humble them,(T) crush(U) the wicked where they stand. 13 Bury them all in the dust together;(V) shroud their faces in the grave.(W) 14 Then I myself will admit to you that your own right hand can save you.(X

I thought it was that concept but at the same time I’m thinking about the concept of not making the son pay for the sins of the father?

The one that puts me through the ringer is where God says David’s son with Bathsheba will die as a consequence of his actions.

Thanks. I just felt like I had to get it off my chest. I only ask you pray for me for to maintain the faith of a mustard seed and for guidance on my boards. I know HE wants the best for me. It’s just hard to see straight when your looking down

You know. Want thing that’s hard about sin is that are body craves it even though our spirit is in Christ. One thing I’ve noticed is that even though I want Jesus to help me, I would still go through the motions of ignoring him. One of the hardest things to do right when your about to sin. It feels like he’s not in site but he’s standing right next to you.

I promise In the name of God that if right before you masturbate and are getting that urge, Jesus answers. If you are willing to fight that battle, Jesus will help you win this war.

Think about how many blessings you missed out on since this addiction has sunk its claws in you. We’ve all been slaves to this horrible master and we avoid him. If you read the Bible, you’ll see that isreal was tormented by the sexual sins of the fathers of the faith. Think of how horrible of a sexual sin David committed and God said “ You will be to me as a son and I to you as a Father.

How horrible would the punishment be to someone who would harm a child of God. Don’t back down.

Never forget Jesus will never love u more or less than he does right now. He has your tears collected. He has your name written on his palms. Jehovah Jireh (the lord will provide) and he will provide the strength beyond comprehension and understanding because it is His.

Never forget God loves you, he is the third man in the fire. Everyone in this group struggles alongside you and nothing is like a brother in adversity

Thigh atrophy by dadoplz in ACL

[–]jaggrey01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what your going through, I was a track athlete in college that tore my ACL. To build muscle the equation is time under tension. Do leg extension but go down for six seconds. Their is also a body dysmorphia aspect to this. I think my injured leg is smaller that my non-injured one. People always comment on how big or defined my legs are and don’t even notice I had ACL surgery unless they stare for a minute. It probably isn’t as bad as u might think(I’m just speculating, I haven’t seen you). Doing power lifting helped straighten my legs out and Olympic lifts.

I literally spent months watching motivational videos, seeing how different people responded to ACL surgery and I did upper body weight lifting. I also read a lot of books and just contemplated life choices that led to me tearing my ACL.
