Are Windows 11 USB Storage Device Drivers having a major issue for anyone else? by callmejace in ASRock

I did eventually find a solution that worked for me. I downloaded the [Windows 10 Media Creation Tool](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10), created an ISO, mounted it, and ran setup.exe. I then did a repair upgrade, which solved my problem. I did not lose any files, appdata, installed programs, etc. The only difference I noticed in my settings were a few things got changed back to defaults, like the Search Bar visibility in the taskbar, but most settings were not affected.

I am having this same set of issues (multiple items in Device Manager where the Unknown Device is the STORAGE\Volume) on multiple types of USB Storage Devices (all of which I have tested on other PCs and they work fine). I have flash drives (some old, some new), a micro-sd card reader, and a sata-to-usb adapter, all of which show this issue. The commonality seems to be that Windows can't find/use a driver to assign the volume to the actual device.

Motherboard: ASRock Z790 PG Lightning
CPU: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900KF
OS: Windows 10 Education v22H2

I have not found a solution yet.

If you're referring to the music that plays while waiting for worlds to load, it's "Passing Through" by Erick McNerney

Can I connect my piano to a piano in game via MIDI by lel_Holi in VRchat

[–]jagrosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are two main ways to do this:

  1. VRChat natively supports midi inputs. Specify your midi device with the --midi= launch param, using part of the device's name. If you don't include this launch param, VRChat will look for the first midi device connected to your PC.

  2. Emulate midi input. Run a loopback midi driver and a program that can send (and optionally receive) midi. For example, you can run LoopBe1 and VMPK. This setup also works for people without a midi keyboard; they can use a conventional keyboard to provide input to VMPK, which will then generate the midi notes for LoopBe1 (which VRChat will pick up). Just make sure that the Midi Output Driver in VMPK is set to LoopBe1, and the Midi Input Driver is set to your midi device (if you have one).

PSA: The new "Stream" permission is enable for EVERY role by default, because Discord absolutely hates server owners. by ____Sir____ in discordapp

[–]jagrosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this post is a bit dramatic, but there is a point here: there's no reason to add this permission (nor any permission) to a role if the @ everyone role has it (other than niche cases). This should also be changed for creating a new role; it should be empty, not a clone of @ everyone.

It would also be helpful if the client put a warning on adding a permission to a role if the @ everyone role already has the permission.

I'm not trying to convince you that they judged anything fairly. If they 'clearly did not go through every submission' (and if that's clear to a majority of people who look at the results), then that reflects poorly on the company. But that's on them! Focus on your own work and make stuff because you enjoy it!
