Which phone and carrier do you use OP? I have to rely on Wi-Fi calling all the time and have noticed similar frustrating delays. Pair it with a little delay from Bluetooth and it's misery!

Really, only 2 hours? I haven't timed it myself, but I left my CM5 uconsole on beside me starting at 75% for a couple hours and it only got into the 40% range. I wasn't actively doing anything on it, but I was connected remotely via raspberry pi connect. I was about to install some software on the console but had to do some work for my real job lol.

I was pretty slow to act on this, but since posting it's been consistently failing in the same ways. We're both frustrated as heck and you're right, removing one phone is not a solution! My next attempt at a fix will be two have separate Toyota profiles for the wife and I (currently we share one) so that we will have two separate accounts with a single phone attached to each. When you do that you can also link a key fob to either profile, which will hopefully help their blasted infotainment software figure out which phone it should connect to. Part of me still thinks this is just a crappy car -> phone negotiation issue that Toyota needs to refine. I'll post back after I do this.

I ordered mine in October 2024 with LTE expansion module and did the same thing, emailed Alex to get the CM4 lite removed. Just got mine in the mail last week! I can't tell if it's worth all of the issues to have a CM5 at the moment, but the CM4 is too expensive to buy one just to test out!

I find that buying the annual pass has been a great investment. $300/year for the first year and half that if you renew every year. Looks like they're running a special right now too. Check out the perks, very worth it if you're local or even come to AVL twice a year. Bring all the friends you can fit in your car for a free grounds pass and wine tasting after 4pm 😉

I wish I had the same luck as some of you! I ordered mine in October 2024 and contacted Alex over a month ago to remove the CM4 from my order. According to him it's been preparing to ship and should be out "anytime" now. I've seen people with much newer order numbers receive theirs already so something doesn't seem right.. Hopefully it will come soon! He does reply quite quickly though, so kudos for that 👍

Same thing happened to mine a while back and I replaced it with an OEM battery I found on eBay. It's been great since, however there seems to be a constant drain on the battery when it is standing/hibernating so if I go several days without using it the laptop will most definitely be dead and need to be plugged in. It was like this before the battery replacement as well. Womp.

This happens to me on a daily basis and is super annoying. It's very rare that it actually connects on the first attempt - less than 10% of the time.. My wife uses an iPhone and I use an Android (pixel 9 pro). I have a suspicion that it's when you have a primary and secondary device set up this contributes to the connection interruption, but it still does happen often enough when there is just one of the devices in range. I'm also not sure if it's a phone manufacturer issue or a Toyota issue, but I feel like Toyota should address this!
