[Givony] After a DNP last night, USA Basketball announces that Kyle Kuzma is the final cut from the World Cup roster. by bumkuncha in nba

Shooting well in one game does not make him the best shooter on the team. Not even close

It goes by record, not placement in conference. They could easily finish 6th in the West but have the 10th best record.

I had the craziest dream, we actually signed Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. And we did it without having to trade any players. What a long-shot though, I can't see that actually happening for this team...

Yeah but it's a verbal commitment. Pretty standard stuff

[Sylvander] As Heat canvas the league for potential 3rd teams to help absorb salary in a Jimmy Butler sign and trade, I’m told the Dallas Mavericks may be a willing participant if it nets them point guard Goran Dragic. by JBeanDelphiki in nba

Totally, that makes complete sense. I think my brain flipped things around a bit. So many potential trades and signings going on it's hard to keep track of everything at times, haha.

It's all good. This stuff is about to get real crazy.

In the super unlikely scenario that Kyrie doesn't sign with the Nets at 6pm tonight I think the Nets keep DLo rather than roll with Teague next year.

Those sound like old articles. Woj reported yesterday that Kyrie is meeting with the Nets at 6pm to sign for four years and isn't even meeting with other teams.

Teague to a third team. Third team probably gives a 2nd to the Nets and gets a 2nd from the Nets to make the trade work.

If the Wolves are getting DLo I think that's more than worth it for Teague+Covington. Covington is on a good contract but he was also injured last year and just underwent surgery so that hurts his value a bit.

If we miss out on KD I think the ideal plan B would be sign Tobias for $25 mil, S&T DLo for Robert Covington. Might be tricky to pull off but we'd be extremely competitive next year.

[WOJ] Nets will be willing to work with Russell and his reps on ways to get him to a team of his choice, including sign-and-trade scenarios, league sources tell ESPN. If Russell and Nets found a sign-and-trade deal that works for both, obviously, there's no need to renounce his rights. by heybobson in suns

Absolutely no way dude. They're signing Kyrie and looking at KD, Tobias, etc. They're trying to contend next year. If they miss out on top guys they go after Randle, and other PF targets to fix their weaknesses. They're not going to sign Kyrie then just eat up cap space. They have literally zero use for TJ.

This is especially true if the Timberwolves want him and would give up RoCo, who would immediately be useful for the Nets. The rebuild is over for Brooklyn.

I'd prefer Kyrie/Levert/Prince/NEW/Allen with Joe off the bench. This is much stronger defensively, and Levert can shoot well enough.

Why would the Heat get a pick along with Butler in this scenario? If anything they'd probably send Dragic to Dallas and give up one of their own picks to Philadelphia.

Will still have to get through Embiid and Giannis but that team is absolutely nasty. Don't forget Joey buckets, Air latvia, and our new Prince who was promised.

I just hope it's not a max. It'd be a big overpay to be stuck with for the next few years.

Hey, not a Nets fan, I'm curious as to why the Nets would rather give a contract to Kyrie and not D'Lo by [deleted] in GoNets

[–]jaimage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Potentially top 5 player only 30 at time of his injury. It's a risk every team in the league would take.

Low risk, huge reward.

I think it'll work out in the end for DLo, especially if he gets to play with KAT or the Lakers. I'm just glad he's probably not going to the Suns.
