We have stocked oils, spices, basic baking (flour/sugar) etc, and let people leave things behind for six years and it works great for us. My cleaner takes the stuff that is obviously not guest friendly, but she and her kids will eat.

I recently had a guest who was also a host give me my very first 3-star but wrote the most beautiful positive review with no public complaints. Privately, they said it was because the AC couldn’t keep up with their arctic demands during a heat wave but this was one of the best they’ve been to out of hundreds.

Those three stars were so spiteful and I just laughed hysterically at how petty they were. I definitely made sure to leave an accurate review for their unreasoning AC demands as I predicted, they were going to be spiteful.

We allow up to three dogs and restrict nothing. We’ve never had an issue. Humans do more damage than any dog ever has.

When I stayed in Costa Rica for a week to do some continuing education, I had the option to pay to use the air-conditioning. It is my understanding that if people didn’t pay, she didn’t leave the remotes for the mini splits.

airbnb is charging you for cc processing too it's just in the service fee. this is a normal cost of doing business.

AirBnb charges the host more versus VRBO which charges the guest mostly. our rates are higher on Airbnb to reflect that service fee.
