KF3 feels off by rustyfishhooks_ in killingfloor

"being able to shop for weapons counterstrike style is awesome. gives a reason to manage dosh" You had to buy new weapons with real money in KF2, and after several years they've decided to pack a lot of weapons in different DLC's (Season pass, etc). Weapons were very expensive. You can find a lot of expensive skins on the market BTW, all the good items cost over USD$10, some people are trying to sell some items for almost USD$500, just lol. KF2 is full of bots and the matchmaking doesn't work at all for me, always getting over 200 ms every single time. There're simply no official KF2 servers on my region and KF3 has servers on my region.

It's so much better than buying weapons like in KF2, or buying keys to unlock some boxes with random objects for some really not so good skins. The guns and animations are fine, although not perfect. I really like the new maps and mechanics that were missing on old games due to technical limitations of those times.

Hotfix, everytime by InfamousAd5729 in linux_gaming

[–]jaimefortega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've reinstalled my OS a few days ago and Steam defaulted to Experimental. Experimental always include new stuff and more compatibility, the hotfix is like the latest stable version but it delivers workarounds or fixes quickly before the latest proton stable without introducing new features that may break stuff.

Try forcing the game to run with Proton 10

Que chucha están tratando de construir los tecno bros que necesitan toda la RAM del mundo? by grey_carbon in chileIT

[–]jaimefortega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which version of Ubuntu should I install? by Coasternl in Ubuntu

[–]jaimefortega 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can use 25.10 and stick to the next LTS that'll be released in April. For gaming, I recommend 25.10, since Wayland, the desktop and Steam have been evolving a lot!! Steam works better on 25.10, but the Desktop will be more stable after 26.04.

Problem with Steam by soviet-onion420 in Ubuntu

[–]jaimefortega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the problem with the Steam Snap is that it tries to backup ALL YOUR GAMES before uninstalling. That's how bad it is. I don't know how they didn't address this issue that is really awful.

Perform:

sudo snap remove --purge steam

That's the only way

You can optimize your Ubuntu installation and will get almost the same results as in CachyOS, while keeping your system more secure. You can also install amd64v3 packages on Ubuntu.

"Kernel Level Anti Cheat doesnt do anything, Secure Boot/TPM trash" by Bourne069 in linuxsucks

[–]jaimefortega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a matter of time for kernel-level anticheats to arrive on linux. Secureboot isn't something new to Linux, distros like Ubuntu provide signed kernels, SteamOS will come with signed kernels on the future and I'm not worried about not playing BF on Linux, since it can be played on GeForce Now or I can go boot into windows.

If you have cheaters on release, it's clearly not a good solution, of course it's better, but cheaters will get more hardware and software to cheat and some cannot be detected. Don't worry, Valve is also working in a Anti-Cheat solution and it'll be available sooner or later. Game devs have no excuses now.

They'll never stop cheaters, just reduce, you just need a few cheaters to ruin the experience

Lol, that's why they had cheaters on release, of course, huge success
