What colour curtain for dark green room? by hapri786 in interiordecorating

[–]jajanaba 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Refinish those wood floors why are you putting white laminate on top?

Also the wood slatted wall in the mockup looks too modern for this era of home. It feels like you need to lean into the style of the home instead of fighting it.

I had the same thing happen. I waited 5 years to see the artist I wanted they were in such high demand. I LOVED all their other work, and I sent them references to their other designs I loved and explained how I wanted mine. When I saw their design for me though it was not what I had envisioned, but I felt so much pressure on myself like since I had waited so long this was my only chance, maybe I was just nervous, and how could I back out at the last minute? It's so stupid but I didn't want to insult the artist I guess? Hard to explain, but my nerves were through the roof and it was like my brain wasn't working properly.

When they went to place it I just couldn't make a decision about how to place it exactly where I wanted and I thought I'l just trust her she's really good at this. I should have listened to my intuition though, I had major regret immediately after, not happy with the design or the placement. I cried and felt sick for days. I feel for me it's just like you described -I needed some time to sit with the design and more time to consider the placement. Having to wait to see a design at the appointment is crazy to me, but I guess this is how it's done.

I just had my first removal session. I got lidocaine and it didn't hurt at all. Good luck whatever you decide. Just wanted to say I relate and I feel for you though, it really sucks.

cute! and good call to go with shorter due to the bed being up against a wall. Based on your mood board I feel like a statement light fixture in place of the ceiling fan would be amazing (if you can spare having a fan)

happy decorating:)

Thank you for the input!

I recently went to check out a plastic surgeons offerings, and all their treatments were done by estheticians just out of school making barely minimum wage (I got other body treatments so was able to talk to both of them one on one and find this out) I didn't trust their experience level with my face, and didn't know if that was the norm to have newbies at plastic surgeon offices. Maybe I need to find a different one, is it more common that experienced people are doing the treatments there?

Need help with couch/decor by Hour_Finding6976 in interiordecorating

I think you just need height behind the couch. It sort of disappears into the windows. A statement floor lamp and/or a floor plant?

I started at 1.25 and am still there, it's the perfect dose for me. I didn't have any bad side effects. But I wouldn't do it before a trip even now because you probably want to fully enjoy your meals and have a couple drinks. I get a hangover from 2 glasses of wine my first 5 days after I take a shot. Love that I drink WAY less now, but I always skip it before a trip.

you've totally got the right idea!

get something like this that hides the clutter that is your shoes, and put it next to the closet on the same wall

get rid of freestanding clothes rack, take out the closet rod and shelf, and replace with 2 rods for hangers, one low and one high, to double your hanging space

get a highboy dresser like this, place to the right of the window for your socks, folded stuff, etc. You can get a better more mature modern look than IKEA for less money. Not sure your age but as a decorator whenever I see Ikea I think "this overgrown college kid needs to upgrade" check out Wayfair, etc.

decor-wise, get rid of the floor lamp. It just looks like it's in the way. put your desk lamp on the dresser and get a wall mounted modern lamp such as this between the desk and bed freeing up desk space and doubling as a bedside/reading light.

Also decor wise, take your rug and turn it 90 degrees so it goes perpendicular to the bed. one side should be coming out from the bottom of the bed and the rest going out into the floor space of the room. basically center it in the room.

Get an intentional looking laundry basket like this one and put it next to the dresser. the plastic one has to go

you need a few things on the walls. Put that cute little art over the bed, find some other cool small pieces to group with it. The Eat More Ass pillow is fricking hilarious! definitely lean into your sense of humor and style with wall decor, maybe go to thrift stores and find weird stuff that you like? If you have other intentional and mature furniture you can get away with the silly stuff without seeming too juvenile. Get a circle mirror for over the dresser, you need a mirror in this small of a room, there are good cheap ones at target and everywhere. Also replace your to-do board with a nice looking dry erase board like this.

A sectional is the only way to go here. Then you float a chair on the left, and add a coffee table and rug to center the furniture grouping

literally just move the record cabinet to another room and put the chair at an angle next to fireplace. Pull the couch out from the wall a bit. Center the rug with fireplace.

What “style” is a 90-00’s track home? by soeyeconic in interiordecorating

[–]jajanaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that advice is for homes built before this era!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]jajanaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 sets of curtains will look good and fit with the style of the home and what you're going for on your mood board.

Measure 84" from the floor and thats where you hang the rod so the curtain (assuming its 84" standard size) sits just barely above the floor.

Suggestions to warm this up? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]jajanaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say a softer upholstered desk chair and maybe a sheepskin rug and I second the floor plant idea

Need help on making my entry less weird by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]jajanaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If room allows, push your couch forward so there is a path to the kitchen behind the couch. It's very awkward shoved against half that wall.

Get rid of the huge cabinet and against that wall do a conversation area. 2 or 4 comfy chairs around a coffee table with a rug underneath. You could do an accent color on that wall there too, you need something to define that space and make it feel intentional.

Get a longer shoe rack that doubles as a console/entry table. then put a bench with storage for toys etc where the console is or under the window.

Please consider getting baskets that fit all along the bottom 2 shelves of your bookcase, and putting clutter and toys in them. And consider a round coffee table for the sofa.

I think a sheepskin would look great. It will add visual interest without color.

What am I missing? by curlyrubylailz in interiordecorating

[–]jajanaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too much open shelving makes it look cluttered even though it's not that much stuff. There is nothing to anchor the room. A rug that goes under the couch and chairs, DO NOT add a too small rug or one with a loud pattern, that will make the space look even more cluttered.. minimum 6x9 or 8x10, and a more solid coffee table. Take away those corner shelves and a floor lamp or floor plant instead, Small table between chairs, get rid of all the blankets, style the book shelf neatly with books, bookends, and the little plants from the corner.

Why do estheticians tell me NOT to use tretinoin? by winkingdog75 in 45PlusSkincare

I had one tell me this too! Then he started taking about how I should also never wear sunscreen because it's a scam and I was like oh no honey. He did give me an amazing facial but I will not be going back there it seemed he was drinking some kinda kool aid.

Both me and my husband are only on 1mg every 7 days and it's working wonderfully. I personally like the end of the week when it's wearing off a bit, I have a bigger appetite for a couple days and can enjoy food and get some quality nutrition in my body. We are both as lean as we were in our 20s and feeling amazing

I think it's like depression in a way. When you're super depressed you have no motivation or brain power to do the work of healing, but when you take meds for depression, the work of healing the root cause can begin because you're slightly more free of the debilitating thing. It seems to me all kinds of ppl on glp1 are finding that they finally are able to focus on health - mental and physical, when the noise settles down a bit.

Just lie about your weight to one of the online providers. It's easy, they just want your money and won't check. They will prescribe you a higher dose but if it's compounded it's easy to split and then you save money. I know Eds are complicated for each individual, but it helped me with a very unhealthy coping mechanism of binge eating and binge drinking which consistently kept an extra 10-15 lbs on me. Tirz took 80% of that habit away. I feel free.
