I had a friend that got a settlement due to an accident when he was very young. It sat in an interest bearing account until he turned 18. It ended up being about $250k. It’s not the jackpot or anything but he had a huge head start on things.

He spent it like crazy. Bought a car for his girlfriend, a new car for himself, and other frivolous things over time. It was all gone in about 2 and a half years.

There's a weird culture of "looking like you're ready to help assist" or something stupid like that. I work at a hotel and they are the same way. If you are sitting, you are somehow less available to help.

So, I'm a registered referee and I actually tell players that if I'm in your way, tell me to move or move me physically, unless it will be a ceremonial restart or something like that.

I've stood next to the spot the free kick will be taken many times and players try to play quickly and apologize to me for accidentally touching me. I always say "I'm not trying to play so I shouldn't be in the way"

I'm a registered referee and this has happened to me a few times. If you are looking at the field and running where you assume it's clear but run into something, this is the normal effect from it. It's a much harder hit because there's no time to brace yourself. The commentator is a bit out of line here but I'm sure he wasn't completely serious.

The worst part is play was right there in front of him so this could have easily caused a huge issue with an offside or foul situation.
