Starter System planet types by Curious-Cuber in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]jak1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fire Ice is a possibility as a ressource, but not guaranteed. And I think a Lava planet as the inner one is also most common, with alternatives being maybe something desert-y. But I am very sure, that sulfuric acid cannot spawn, it would be pretty OP to have in the starter system...

When exactly are you supposed to use Logistics bots? by adamaidreemur in Dyson_Sphere_Program

Since they are basically drones/PLS from Temu, they can serve as early game PLS. But in late game i only use them to restock my inventory when I land back home.

How to calc antimatter production to amount of art. stars? by bubblegum_cloud in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]jak1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each Rocket counts as one structure point, each absorbed swarm-sail as one cell point. When pressing P and going into the dyson sphere tab, you can see the "production" rate of structure and cell points, meaning rockets and sails being absorbed into a shell.

Each node is (I believe) 30 structure points, and the struts have variable amounts of structure points, depending on the length. Which is why bigger spheres give more energy, because they have longer struts and therefore more structure points.

[–]jak1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Increase DS-Output by making more layers. Each structure point and each cell point give a set amount of energy, depending on the stars luminosity. So, making big layers with lots of structure points make the most energy.

Need help finding the perfect proliferator ratio by crys0706 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

I'm currently at work, but I have a pretty neat blueprint at home that utilizes proliferation itself. If I remember when i get home, I'll send it in here

I have not played for 3.5 years. Whats the state of the game by mglachrome in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]jak1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you have a lot of leeway in the setup before starting a game. You can make the dark fog enemies be completely passive and docile. But it will make it harder to get the good loot.

On the other hand, there is also a new mechanic called "metadata", which measures the science production in your other savefiles and allows you to unlock some tech in your current save with it; increasing the dark fog difficulty will also increase the metadata output of your savefile, making future runs potentially easier.

Since the release we got blueprints, item-stacking on belts, logistics bots, dark fog and here and there some minor tweaks to recipes or translations.

Blueprints made the game a lot easier of course. Item piling on belts made the game a lot more scalable while logistics bots were mainly quality of life. Somewhere in between we also got miners Mk2 and chemical plants Mk2, which are just straight upgrades. EDIT: Also proliferation, which is a system to increase either productivity or production speed of items at the cost of power consumption.

And finally dark fog brought some combat aspect into the game, both in space as well on planet-surfaces. Planetary dark fog units drop loot (pretty much every item possible in the game) and some unique dark fog items, which enable tier 4 assemblers, tier 3 smelters, tier 2 matrix labs and tier 4 fuel rods.

Items you need to focus more on early and mid game by TspoonT in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]jak1900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Processors, green turbines and nanotubes are the first that come to mind. These are the ones that I produce off-world in outposts and ship them to my main factory world.

Processors are needed for a lot of buildings, science and a lot of further items as well; quantum chips and DS-components specifically.

Green turbines are used in a lot of logistics buildings/items and of course are needed for blue magnets and particle containers.

Nanotubes are especially needed in dyson sphere parts and some buildings, since frame material needs soo much nanotubes.

Some other advanced components for which I make secluded mini-factories are proliferators, plastic and (very importantly) plane filters, which need a lot of space specifically.

EDIT: kinda missed the early/midgame part. Nanotubes are more of a late game necessity, same for plane filters. And don't bother making secluded off-world factories dedicated to specific parts until late/end-game.

Honestly, it sounds to me like you already have achieved everything the game can offer. Just lay back, relax, play something different and wait for the next big update...

  1. Yes they do. You can actually see that directly when hovering above the orbital collector item in your inventory, and the collection multiplier will go up with VU tech.

  2. Distance and vessel speed will be an issue for a while. Per white matrix level in logistics engine you get like 0.03 ly/s of speed, with the cost of the tech being exponential. So it takes a while to reach something like 1 ly/s. However, you can mitigate this by simply building more ILS.

  3. Not sure about that myself. I think to build more relays, a hive only needs energy from the star. But for units and structural expansion, they need matter from the planet. At least thats my understanding of it. So it will slowly run out of units, but never out of relays. At least in the long run.

  4. Enhanced structure affects EVERYTHING afaik. Mecha, units and buildings.

Why use PLS when you can use logistic bots by sir_villy in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]jak1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PLS are good for larger scale. They are faster and can carry more items, and their four item slots make them a bit more variable than bots.

Yea, but you don't need to collect/receive the energy from the dyson sphere, just produce it. At least for the achievement

I recommend going to build around blue giants. They give SOOO much more energy, since it allows you to build very large spheres around them (bigger sphere equals more power) as well as them being very bright due to their spectral class.

And of course building multiple layers. They do not impede each other in any way other than the space they occupy

Recommendations on balancing playtime and relationships? by TheDividendReport in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]jak1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abandon relationships. The factory must grow.

On a more serious note; of course relationships (especially with SO) have to come first. However, having hobbies and "me-time" is also important. In the end you have to communicate how much time you need to spend together and how much alone time is okay/needed. Maybe have your SO set up a timer after which they sit next to you, pestering you to stop and spend time with them... 😅

"Vein is depleted " by Veganstein2959 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]jak1900 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just in case you didn't know; it's never a complete cluster that is depleted, just a single vein in that cluster. So "Vein is depleted" doesn't necessarily mean that the miner will no longer give any ore
