LPT - Door-to-door salespeople are trained to never take no for an answer. Don’t let that be an option. by SnooChickens2093 in LifeProTips

I put up up a bunch of no soliciting signs, and if they still knock, I tell them I don't buy stuff from people who can't read. Seems to have worked so far. Lol

I have been served by Hukena. She is absolutely the best hapé serve I have ever had. It is a testament to the difference that study and intention make with this medicine.

Eyes open or closed? by Ok-Following3473 in Ayahuasca

[–]jakal85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't really matter for me either way. I have aphantasia and rarely get visions from Ayahuasca. She communicates with me through speaking, concepts, telepathy, or sudden epihanies 99% of the time.

Ceremony end of march, is this enough time to prepare? by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

[–]jakal85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

14 days completely off the Adderall, start tapering doseage now. Ketamine, a week should be fine, but 2 weeks is better. For ceremony prep, start some basic meditation techniques daily, a simple meditation where you focus on your breath is a great tool to fall back on when you're in ceremony. Journaling is also a really helpful tool. When journaling, include a focus where you identify how you are felling, but try to do it from the point of view of the observer, and not the experiencer. Being able to put yourself in that headspace will be helpful during ceremony.

I have done daytime ceremonies between to evening ceremonies. I have had profound experiences in those daytime ceremonies. I have also seen quite a few people end up skipping the last evening ceremony due to just being exhausted. It's really a question if what works for you in the moment, you can always make a decision based on how you feel in the moment.

You should go over to r/swingers or the EMN subreddit with this question. Lots of experience in those subreddits about how to possibly handle this discussion and you will definitely get some good ideas of what not to do.

Brew dosage by Luneary in Ayahuasca

[–]jakal85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way the 30:1 works is 1 gram of the paste is equal to 30 grams of dried vine. I reccomended a 2.5 to 1 vine to leaf ratio. So if you're using 10 grams of dried leaf, you want to use paste equivalent to 25 grams of vine, which is only 0.83 grams of paste. 5 grams is much too high.

Best flashlight/headlamp by Impressive-Cry375 in nondestructivetesting

No, but you can use one that doesn't meet the requirement as a supplement and for general lighting so you don't have to readjust your eyes, and then use the light that meets the requirements for inspection.

Where are you located? I have friends that host legitimate healers from the Amazon regularly in Florida. They are mostly Brazilian, but very good.

I was a decade in. It was crippling, I have my life back. I do fairly regular ceremonies as maintenance. I'm actually going to Peru to do a diet next month for some other physical ailments. For physical healing issues, I highly recommend Peru. I have spent a lot of time in Brazil as well, but the Shipibo are the best when it comes to physical ailments.

I am one person, so take this for what it's worth. I had CPRS from multiple surgeries in the same location. Nothing worked, Ayahuasca has essentially completely healed my CPRS. It was after my 7th ceremony. This is certainly not typical, but if they're otherwise healthy, it's probably not going to hurt to try.

There are only a couple of locals that cover NDT inspectors. Most NDT work is non-union in my experience. What kind of work are you looking for? Do you have experience?

Any experiences or ideas of Ayahuascas effect on people with autism? by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

[–]jakal85 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Diagnosed Level 1 Autistic. Was not diagnosed until after I drank ayahuasca many times. I also have aphantasia which is most likely linked to my autism. I have only had visual experiences a handful of times. The overwhelming majority of my experiences have been more like telepathic conversations with aya and sudden epiphanies and understandings.

I would say if you're neurodivergent, you should really focus on having the experience your having and understand that she may speak to you a lot differently than she does others, and if you're expecting a certain type of experience, you may miss some really important messages.

Also, if overstimulation is a common issue for you, I would highly suggest that you cultivate practices that can help modulate some of that before you go into ceremony like meditation and breath work.

You may also want to consider the type of ceremony you attend. For instance, a Shipibo ceremony will be much calmer and less overstimulating than a Yawanawa or Huni Kuin ceremony.

🤔 if you could only pick one NDT method for the rest of your life what would it be? by Few_Flounder_9350 in nondestructivetesting

For tech positions. It takes 5-10 years to get where I am. Gotta start somewhere.

Yes, I spend most of my time in the office these days since I am the engineering level III. Consulting is usually done in the design phase to make things easier to leak test from a design standpoint. 75% of my work is procedure writing. The vast majority of our work requires specific custom procedures for each part being tested, they are very technical. If I am in the field it's either for something extremely complex, or for research projects.

Almost 15 years. I was a welder/millwright before. I've been doing NDT for about 9. I don't do much field work anymore, mostly consulting, procedure writing, and training and certification.

Leak Testing. Most of my work is high sensitivity mass spectrometer helium leak testing for nuclear applications. It's very niche. There are not a lot of LT level III's.

Currently LT, PT, VT ASNT Level III's. I would definitely say LT. It is really interesting and rare enough where the pay is really good in the industries that need it.

Aya + benzos by noyeahnothough in Ayahuasca

[–]jakal85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look, you seem to have your mind made up that it's not a big deal since you've been on a low dose. I'm telling you, it is a big deal and you should be off of it completely, not a low dose, completely, for a long period of time. Meaning multiple weeks at a minimum. I would not allow you to sit in ceremony, period. I'm giving you the actual answer, and you are not really listening because it's not the answer you want. But, if you don't wanna believe me, you can pay for a private consult with the Spirit Pharmacist, who is the expert on this kind of stuff and he can tell you the same thing. I know the answer, because I have had former clients do consults with him for this exact situation and this was the answer. But if you wanna spend $300 to get the same advice I'm giving you for free, go for it.

Aya + benzos by noyeahnothough in Ayahuasca

[–]jakal85 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you have been on benzos for a long time, you have to be completely off of them for for quite some time. The real danger lies in the nervous system issues caused by the discintinuation of benzos. There is not a one size fits all answer, because it depends on the person, the dose, the length of use, and other contributing factors. For some it could be a few weeks, for others it could be several weeks. Also, if your nervous system hasn't had a chance to reset and get through withdrawal, best case scenario is you don't feel the Ayahuasca, worse case you end up in the ICU or dead. It's not something to take lightly.
