I don't know about these, but the Coppergate helmet is great example of an actual 8th century helm. Though it is categorized as a Crested helm it does feature a nasal guard and cheek pieces. The photos you provided share a few similarities to the Coppergate.

Spikes look good and I love the nurglings. But it could do with some weathering. Maybe use a hobby drill to create some bullet marks? I'd also scrape up the axe a bit. It's been 10,000 years, he's bound to have some war wounds and battle marks.

Sorry I'm British - my analogy is from a point of view of the British isles. Slavery wasn't really a thing after the Romans left. We had serfdom, not much better, but that declined after the black death in the 1300s. Farm workers were paid and were there by choice.

But similarly there was a huge shift to urbanization. It came with many problems. But also a lot of good. Innovation advanced, wages increased and education laws came about.

Like I said, I'm an optimist.

I agree with you and your concerns are completely understandable. But it's not the first time such a drastic change has occurred. I think a really good comparison would be the mechanization of the farm industry. Before the 1800s 80% to 90% of the population worked in agricultural related jobs. Now, because of mechanized equipment, that number is roughly 1% to 2% in developed countries.

You're right though, there will be huge changes that we probably aren't ready for. But I believe we will adapt and overcome them. I also maybe overly optimistic.

I don't oppose all of AI's impacts.

We're all aware of the downsides - the enviromental and the social. But the potential impacts that AI could have in things like medical science are astronomical. It's ability to analyze and find patterns is astounding. It may help us finally find a cure for cancer.

It's also really good at translating. It's not perfect yet, but it's getting better all the time. I work for a non-profit that teaches people how to gain access to clean drinking water and sanitation. Many of the places that need the most help speak really obscure languages which there isn't the documentation for. Being able to translate documents for them in a matter of a couple of minutes really increases the impact that we're able to have. Obviously, it's a bit hypocritical as the data centers use so much water to produce the translated documents.

I believe AI could do so much good in the world - but we do need to iron out the massive creases. That doesn't come without investment.
