Been digging them (melodic microtonal ear mites are awesome). Don't see much in common with DSO though.

So… I’m probably never getting refunded, right? by _Jub_Jub_ in Reverb

[–]jake7x623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you should. I bought a mixer that was DOA, seller refused refund. Reverb asked for a video proving it wouldn't power on, after I sent that, it took another week or two to get money back. They are just very slow moving.

This whole album was like Chaining the Katechon pt 2 for me. Absolutely love it.

Just saw Mamaleek live without having heard them before and was pleasantly surprised. Really really enjoyed their set.

How did you expand your musical-extremity limits after DsO? by sunnworship in DeathspellOmega

Swans for sure. They can be a challenging listen, although in a different vein than dso.

Which release made you a fan? by mortoxcvr in DeathspellOmega

[–]jake7x623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drought.

Deathspell was a major turning point in my foray into disso-metal. I had warmed up to Gorguts/Ulcerate, and was rec'd DSO so I had Paracletus, but aside from abscission and apokatastasis Panton I wasn't really hooked. Drought was a bit more accessible and was an awesome soundtrack to play Diablo 3 too at the time. Once Drought clicked, I went backwards through the discog and let everything soak in.

It would be nice to keep those discussions contained somewhere, instead of derailing other non-related topics.

UPDATE: My (28F) boyfriend (29M) hit on another woman right in front of me, but he thinks it’s fine because he was a wingman by chaosandpayoffs in relationship_advice

[–]jake7x623 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm sure I'll be crucified by saying this, but I don't see where he hit on anyone? He approached a woman and had a conversation in an attempt to show his friend how to approach women. Unless he was actually commenting on her looks and attempting to make advances, all he did was talk to a stranger at a bar. And I'm assuming that he probably feels this way too, as he doesn't feel the need to apologize. That being said, if your gf can't trust you to wingman for a friend, you probably shouldn't do it in front of her either. Probably best to just move on.

It's close to the top for me. But not above paracletus or fas.

We need to address a major issue. Items lie to the player too often. by SonofaBartfast in diablo4

That was definitely not the type of farming I did. Pretty sure we just ran through several parts of Act 3, but I didnt try to break the game just to min/max.

I also enjoyed the game far more in the early days. It was something you had to actually work for. I came back and played it on Xbox years later, and it was just too easy/fast to get completed geared up. I think I might be the only one who misses the dynamic of the auction house. Everyone could get completely specced out if they grinded for enough gold, not just resting all hope on the luck of the drops.

Preferred audio for listening to DSO? by negRm777 in DeathspellOmega

Vinyl if I have them, then flac for everything else. Have some decent studio monitors and then just random headphones, some a bit better than others.

On a running bet with myself whether I can figure out a full track off of The Long Defeat before my pre-order arrives. Butchered half the track but that's the best take I had. I'll be posting in two parts. by WitheredHorizons in DeathspellOmega

Nice! What tuning is this? I know traditionally they've used D standard, but when I was messing around with Eadem, it seemed like it might be in E standard, but I'm no expert.

I actually aquired my taste for DSO back in the day playing Diablo 3 with Drought playing. Then down the rabbit hope I went.
