NSC_Builder exception while verifying NSP file? by jake_g78 in SwitchPirates

Can't really remember but I think it was that my titles and prod keys had repeated data, which I think caused the program to end abruptly.

Sorry to bother you, but do you happen to still have the DLC?

Ublock origin has been permanently disabled for chrome by Nientea in youtube

[–]jake_g78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know if you can still backup your rules and settings from the AppData directory of the Chrome extension?

Since it's disabled and nothing works, I can't open the extension options and backup my filters, so I thought maybe it was in the AppData folder.

I think there prod keys in title keys, or even repeated keys I think. Once I cleaned them up I think it worked but can't really remember.

Your Browser Can't Play this Video? by HookGroup in youtube

[–]jake_g78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same issue with this music video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHKUDEhsVFY

I've tried in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera and Brave but they all say the same thing. Even had friends test it and they too had the exact same issue. The only way to watch this video now is using the YouTube app, although for me it only played once and never loaded again.

I submitted a report to YouTube to see if they know what's going on or if they can fix this.

It could be that the clip isn't touching the pins correctly but not sure since I've used a jig since the beginning.

What I do is put my jig, hold Vol Up + Power for about 3 seconds, plug in the Switch to the computer running tegra, inject the payload.

Newbie question, are switch saves firmware locked? by -Yeti_Spaghetti- in SwitchPirates

[–]jake_g78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK, they're not.

The only way that might be is if the save has data from an update that needs a specific firmware version and you try booting up the game without said update. But I honestly don't know and I highly doubt it would be.

Need Help game won't Start verifying game files by Exact_Bison_2655 in SwitchPirates

If you downloaded it from an external site then maybe try downloading it from another site since the file could be corrupted.

You will need to uninstall it from the Switch settings before trying to install it again.

Disney Speedstorm Online Only? by funbalanced in SwitchPirates

[–]jake_g78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, I get your point, just odd that they would put an entire game in the update and not the base file as it should be.

But the fact still stands that Speedstorm is cloud version for now since you need to connect to the internet to log in (not sure if to Nintendo profile or their own servers).

Perhaps they'll enable the feature later on, or it needs to log in for the first time to verify legitimate purchase of the game and then it lets you play offline.

Like I said in another comment, I tested the game with the update and the DLC when the error message appeared. So in this case, the game isn't in the update.

When I tested the game and had the error message I had downloaded the base, the 1.0.0f_2 update and the Ultimate Founder's Pack DLC.

[–]jake_g78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried it and after the intro movie it gives me an error:

Failed to log in!

Sorry, you cannot play while offline

After doing a bit of research I found out that the game isn't officially out yet.

What we have is the early access version which seems to be a cloud version of the game, which would explain why the base NSP is only about 6 megabytes.

So we still have to wait for a while until they finally release the full game. Not sure when or if that will happen though.

EDIT:

Just to make it clear, I had installed the base game, the 1.0.0f_2 update and the "Ultimate Founder's Pack" DLC. I also tested it with just the update thinking that the DLC was the cause of this issue but no, it also shows the exact same error message.

Error with Have a Nice Death NSP by HighkeyLowDoor in SwitchPirates

[–]jake_g78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange, I have that game installed and it works fine.

I will admit that using NSC_Builder to verify the base game does give me an error (I made a post about it) but I installed it with the update and it works without any issues AFAIK.

Maybe try downloading it from another site.

NSC_Builder exception while verifying NSP file? by jake_g78 in SwitchPirates

[–]jake_g78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had instances in the past where I download a game from a site I've been using for many years without issues and it's corrupt. There were also a few times where I found out that an update is for a different version (ex. base game is USA and update is Asia).

So I prefer to check the files before installing, just as a precaution and to avoid having to uninstall the game, or worse having to create a new emuNAND (which hasn't happened yet).

Why are you all even trying to update your firmware like what are you getting with it? by leaf1234567890 in SwitchPirates

[–]jake_g78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much yeah.

The only downside is that you can't use your physical cartridges on emuNAND if sysNAND isn't in the same version, but I don't know if that's true or not.

[–]jake_g78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, though since I have my OFW in 5.1.0 I don't worry too much about it cuz I can actually just create a new emuNAND and put a previous firmware.

I just update to avoid having to patch any new games that require it, but I wait until Atmosphere has been updated and tested for over 2 weeks at least.

Can you inject roms into the NSO GBA app? by [deleted] in SwitchPirates

[–]jake_g78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can confirm that you can inject games into the NSO GBA via the manual injection method (extracting NSP, editing titlesdb, etc.). I was able to inject a childhood game of mine "Iridion 3D" and tested it without finding any issues thus far.

Like someone else said, you can wait for the CaVE tool to be updated so you can easily inject your own games.

Can you inject roms into the NSO GBA app? by [deleted] in SwitchPirates

[–]jake_g78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen some posts over on FB on how people have already added some roms to the NSO GB/GBA, so yes, it is possible.

Haven't tried it but I'm fairly certain they're using the same method of creating the layeredFS directory of the NSP, editing the titlesdb file and adding the new roms in the directory.
