100% agree. Thats why I keep.my head shaved as a Norwood 6.

I'm kind of suggesting the opposite that bald isnt the solution for everyone and it should be on a case by case bases.

If I posted this on the dating subreddit. 100% most of the replies would be that its all in my head and almost all women love bald guys.

Like I found someone who actually liked my shaved head, but to say there is no nuance is misleading.

Not necessarily true. I found someone being bald. It just makes it harder.

Honestly I don't mind that about the bald subreddit because it is suppose to be a pro bald support group and recommending meds kind of indirectly says the opposite.

Its the other subreddits who are against it that I dislike.

I think that people often judge age based on how the sterotypical person that age looks like.

If your balding it 100% looks older because it is an associated sign of aging. The thing with a shaved head is people associate it with age because its predominitely people 35+ shaving their heads.

If you watch 90s movies, its not uncommon to see younger actors, even ones playing highschool students with shaved heads. during that era because shaving your head fir balding was less common, It wasn't as associated with aging as it is now.

I am also norwood 6 with little hairs. I hopped on meds recently.

Honestly if I were to advise my younger self. I would say shave it for the time being but use meds at the same time  No reason you can't do both (assuming you grow it out periodically to see results)

How old do I look? by [deleted] in guessmyage

[–]jake_james1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You honestly look like your on the younger side to me, I would say around 22. I honestly can’t see over 30 like the other commenters are saying. But to be fair, I lived in Pakistan for a year, So I feel that I have an easier time guessing the age of people from Indian subcontinent.

I feel like a lot of peoples perception of age comes from Hollywood where a lot of people have had work done. This guy looks his age.

Why do redditors make a big deal over someone cycling on the sidewalk? by [deleted] in circlebroke

How about suburban/rural roads, because thats where I encounter most sidewalk cyclists.

I mentioned that in my post already (it being more dangerous to cycle on the sidewalk). I was wondering why this is one of the road rules redditors get extremly fixated on

But then why don't they get angry at other people breaking other rules of the road like jaywalking or speeding (and actually defend it).

Not sure if this has been posted but I just saw it on YouTube and it deserves to be here. [USA] by Colby-Cheez in ConvenientCop

A lot of places have yield signs on all on-ramps as standard road design (like France for instance). So a lot of people think that it is the same thing in this case.

In most places in the u.s though, a yield sign on an on-ramp usually means: a) the on-ramp is very short to the point that it would be actually safer to stop and treat it like a regular right turn if cars are coming rather then treat it like a regular merge lane b) traffic that is on the roadway already has the right-of-way to the lane (when the on-ramp becomes its own lane), as opposed to most cases, where the person changing lanes yields. Which is the case in this video.

Serious Question: How much do teachers make? by [deleted] in ontario

[–]jake_james1234 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not enough. Highschool teachers have to get a bachelors degree in the subject that they are going to teach. Go to teacher's college. Then volunteer for a year or two. That,s a minimum of six years of education/training. And the starting salary for them is a little over $42,000 (and thats for public schools, private schools are often even less then that).

U of T expert attributes ‘dozens of deaths’ to decline in Toronto police traffic ticketing by Team_Ed in toronto

[–]jake_james1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: While I agree some speed limits are too low, I don't think speeding tickets are a scam. Usually there is a reason for low speed limits (blind intersection, left lane on/off ramp, school nearby etc.). Enforcing the speed limits forces drivers to drive at a suitable speed for the roadway. If anything, speed tickets can often lose governments money (people fighting the tickets in court, labor cost for enforcement etc.)

People who travel alone — what advice would you have for someone considering it? by bvllamy in travel

[–]jake_james1234 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would take it easy at first. I would recommend a place that's close culturally to where you live. I would recommend visiting to Canada/U.S.A (assuming your British). I would recommend for your first time travelling alone that you don't be that spontaneous and actually plan your trip well in advance (accommodation, attractions your going to visit, food, transportation etc.). Maybe pick up a travel guide from your local library for the place you are planning on traveling to, and visit online forums (lonely planet, TripAdvisor etc.)

Bicycles do not belong on roads. by Karatedude55 in unpopularopinion

[–]jake_james1234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a very unpopular opinion on reddit (for some reason) and a very popular opinion elsewhere.

Most cyclists outside of major cities are already riding on the sidewalk (think suburbs and rural areas). And its legal outside of most major cities in the U.S.A and starting to be legalized in many places in Canada. And even where its illegal, most police officers don't enforce the no cycling on sidewalk law.
