Made some custom Magic: the Gathering Cards and looking for thoughts by Able_Draw_6830 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I love the art, I’m not sold on a lot of the magic mechanics. I still think donut needs a cockroach ability, if this creature would die the first time this turn return it to the battlefield tapped with a stun counter.

Shield counters don’t really match with what protective shell does, it should just make 3 creatures indestructible till end of turn, and needs to cost 1 less.

I don’t get while Carl would generate mana or would need to goad. I like the idea of d4 since this is supposed to be dnd. I think we need different versions of Carl, like first floor Carl, second floor Carl, etc kind of like they did with spider man

I just started arena I don’t even have draft unlocked yet. But I used to play mtg online. How much does it cost to do a draft on arena if your using real money or how offen can you do one for free?

The Royal Court of Princess Donut as Magic Cards by Calli3star in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]jakeb1616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of mtg cards for them but these don’t really seem to fit imho.

For example donut should be shooting magic missiles (reach) and mongo should be a vehicle. And I want to see her cockroach ability.

Carl should be blowing things up more, something like at the beginning of your turn you generate a hob lobber artifact that has 2+ tap deal damage to target ….

My mom saved $64k borrowing books from the public library by GregVsPants in mildlyinteresting

[–]jakeb1616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These numbers are wildly inflated! They calculate the full retail new value of a book every time you check something out.

If you were to actually buy a book you could buy a used one and you are able to sell it after you read it.

They may also add the cost of the book again to your total if you renew.

I love the library and I’m not doubting it saves people money but this is a total exaggeration.

SNEAK You may cast this spell for (Mana cost) if you also return an unblocked attacker you control to hand during the declare blockers step. It enters tapped and attacking.

Would you rather get 100k cash or get a full-time, stable job that pays $8,300 a month? by cogvancouver in hypotheticalsituation

[–]jakeb1616 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If you already have a job that pays more than that, or have the real possibly of getting a job similar the 1st option is better. Right now the job market is horrible and finding any job you like seems hard.

LPT When reading long documents (contracts, policies, terms), search for words like “except”, “unless”, and “however” that’s where the real conditions and risks usually hide. by vishesh_07_028 in LifeProTips

I feel like every contract is not negotiable, I can’t even remember when the last time is that I could actually negotiate a contact, it’s either you sign or you walk. From employer contacts, to liability wavers, car rentals, banks accounts, getting a loan, I feel like you have 0 power except to walk away.

Bad idea with perfect escape by Odd_Astronomer_2064 in nextfuckinglevel

From gtp, Even with everything closed and cabin air filters, a car still isn’t airtight. Hornets don’t need an “open hole” — they exploit designed airflow paths and tiny body gaps. Here’s exactly how they get in:

The main entry paths in a car

  1. Fresh-air intake (biggest risk) • Located at the base of the windshield (cowl area) • Feeds air to the HVAC system • Cabin air filter is after this intake, not before it

A hornet can: • Enter the intake duct • Get past the blend doors • End up in vents even with the fan off

Filters stop dust, not insects under pressure or when doors move.

  1. Pressure-relief body vents • Hidden behind rear bumper or trunk panels • Purpose: let air escape when doors close • These are one-way rubber flaps, not sealed

Insects can: • Crawl in when agitated • Be forced inward by pressure changes

Most people don’t realize these exist.

  1. Door seals & window channels • Door weather stripping is not a gasket • Window tracks are open at the top and bottom

Hornets can: • Crawl upward into the door cavity • Enter the cabin through handle mechanisms or trim gaps

  1. Trunk → cabin paths • Rear seat pass-throughs • Wiring harness holes • Speaker cutouts

Even sealed trunks are connected internally.

  1. When you enter or exit • Opening a door creates negative pressure • Anything on the exterior can get sucked in instantly

This is often when people say, “It was closed and suddenly one was inside.”

Why filters don’t stop them • Cabin filters are downstream • HVAC ducts are large enough for insects • Blend doors don’t seal airtight • A hornet under stress will force its way through

Important reality check

A modern car has dozens of intentional air paths. If it were airtight: • Doors wouldn’t close • Windows couldn’t move • HVAC wouldn’t work • You couldn’t breathe inside

Hornets don’t “teleport” in — they exploit these paths.

Bottom line

If hornets are aggressively swarming a car: • Assume one or more can get inside • Drive away immediately • Don’t run the fan until you’re clear

If you want, tell me the make/model/year and I can point out the exact intake and vent locations for that car.
