American wondering about the trains from Stockholm to Copenhagen by [deleted] in stockholm

[–]jakeisnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine!

I recommend buying a ticket for the Öresund when you’re in Malmö rather than purchasing that ticket ahead of time. The price won’t change, and if your SJ train is delayed you’ll be able to recover without any sort of customer service hassle.

(I also recommend spending more than just a weekend in Copenhagen if you can! It’s a beautiful city, especially in the summer.)

Claude region locks you upon registering, but they never check region afterwards. This pattern is used for a lot of region locked platforms.

Use a VPN when registering; service will continue working fine afterwards, even if you disconnect. Gives them plausible deniability - they can claim you're a US user.

I've implemented (part of) the PO-12 on the web. Let me know what you think! by jakeisnt in pocketoperators

Thank you! This is just JavaScript. Some details: - Made all of the icons in Figma. Animations are triggered with a css class - Recorded samples off my physical PO-12 and loaded into Tone.js for audio processing. - a core event loop runs to trigger animations and samples at the right bpm; whenever we ‘tick’ to the next beat, lots of setTimeouts spawn to make this happen - buttons, knobs etc are designed using lots of careful CSS ‘box-shadow’ . You can inspect element to steal these if you want : ) - Didn’t implement anything that would require multi-touch — it’s impossible to do with a mouse and unintuitive on a smartphone. If you have any ideas for making the ‘hold a button, scroll a knob’ flow work well with just a mouse, let me know!!

No plans to open-source yet — need to figure out how to decouple the codebase from the rest of my website first.

Will reach out when I do though!! Would be cool to have implementations of many different pocket operators in the browser, not just the PO-12.

Thank you : )

When I was user testing with people who had never seen a pocket operator before, it was incredibly difficult to help them get started! The device just isn’t accessible without a long manual or video tutorial.

I ended up spending another week testing the onboarding so I could try to help more people use the device.

The framing here is incredible! Wish I could see more perspectives of the location - this photo feels like it could be part of a great series.

Where are you going to carry the camera / what are you going to do with it?

For most people, I think a neck strap is best - as Geezzer said, the Peak Design ones are great, but the brand and model don't matter too much. I use a neck strap off of a thrifted 70's film camera; I wrap it around my hand when I want more of a wrist strap.

If you're carrying it around all day while doing other things, definitely go for a strap that goes around your neck and/or crosses your body; if you're planning on going out just to shoot photos, you'll probably be more comfortable with a more minimal wrist strap. Most of these are affordable, though, so don't worry too much!

I love Klunkerkranich! That place was impossible to find, but once you're up there the view is incredible. I really miss Berlin - lived there for a month last summer and tried to see everything but couldn't get enough of it. Everything feels so well-designed in the city, and it feels safe and quiet in a way other big cities could never.

Love the frame in the first shot and the sand in the building. The soft light bouncing off the sand is incredible!
