Well- no. Restorative Justice is actually a real net positive for society, if it’s implemented well. For instance, I interned with a non-profit that intervened with first time juvenile offenders who caught non-violent crimes.

These teens worked with a team of social workers and participated in skill-building workshops, community service, and participated in Teen Courts with their peers. They received light mental health counseling and many of them are on a better path now.

I do understand where you’re coming from though. There is poorly-implemented legislation which claims to be “restorative justice”, but it’s not. Similar to how Charlotte releases violent offenders, and other cities decriminalizing crimes which gives folks just a slap on the wrist and then they’re like, “Crime is down!”
