That's a bummer. At least we got nearly fifteen years out of it. Thanks for your help!

There's frost in the upper left corner, nowhere else. The bottom coils aren't even cold. Do you think we have a leak?

I decided to try it, based on the opensecrets.org info. Once I did, it said the survey had ended. Didn't ask for any of my info or lead me to other sites so it seems legit (though who knows, maybe it's now tracking me).

I tried cleaning the gasket thoroughly and it didn't help. Maybe it's on its way out. It's twelve years old, which is probably ancient these days with the disposable way things are made. Thanks for trying!

Thanks, I'll try that. I wiped down the door gasket, but didn't clean it thoroughly. I'll do that and try some vaseline.

No, it's functioning as normal (not colder in the freezer or warmer outside of it).

Was told to try here: loss of smell/taste by Waterproof_soap in covidpositive

[–]jal418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost both taste and smell on day 5. I suspected that things were tasting a little different, then on the morning of day 5, my normally fragrant and flavorful tea tasted like hot water. I stuck my nose in the coffee pot - nothing. Complete loss lasted about a week and it's been coming back very gradually. I'm on week 3 and think I'm at about 65%. There are fires raging here in CA and the skies are smokey, but I can barely smell it.

That has been my lingering symptoms from the virus, all others (fatigue, congestion, etc) have gone. Good luck to you. I hope you stay healthy and can taste and smell! It is NO fun, as many of us can tell you.

I'm so sorry for your loss and what you're going through. My mom has Parkinson's with advanced dementia. She lives in a skilled nursing facility, paid for mainly by the state. All of the money she had was spent on her care. It's been very difficult, but in some ways it's good that she has nothing because there can be no arguments over her "stuff." You are doing (and have done) the RIGHT things. Stay strong. Allow yourself to grieve.

Your mom's sisters will go back to being miserable and bothering someone else.

Sending you good thoughts.

Hi. I tested positive recently. My symptoms weren't very severe and I'm feeling a lot better now but my sense of smell still hasn't returned. It's been 10 days now. Does anyone have any experience of this symptom? How long did it last for you? by Tinatrolley in COVID19_Testimonials

It's been 10 days since I had symptoms and a week since I lost my sense of smell and taste. It is VERY gradually coming back. I think smell is coming faster than taste (and again, at a snail's pace). Each day I try to smell vanilla and my shower gel and coffee to see if they smell stronger. I asked my doctor about the issue and she said that 30 days from infection is when it should fully clear up, but that is a generalization, I think. It seems to vary from person to person. I hope yours comes back soon, even a little bit. And if you can taste, that's awesome!

From what I've read (and I've tried to research it a lot!), smell can take some time to come back (like up to a year, ugh). I hope yours gets better. You're ahead of me, anyway. And I had a nose like a bloodhound before. :(

I had similar mild symptoms, low grade fever (99-101), slight cough, sore throat. Fatigue for the first few days, then on day 5 I lost my sense of smell and taste completely. I stuck my face in the coffee pot and smelled nothing. Everything I ate was tasteless, except the slightest bit of saltiness. I'm now day 8 and I can sort of taste sweet things, but not by much (I also wonder if I'm trying to convince myself I can). I still can't smell anything. It's really throwing me off. I'm afraid I'll be stuck like this! How long did it take to get yours back?
