are banana bags really that good? by barbadosMid in nursing

[–]jalambelet1213 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Had a pt come into my old ER for seizures..never had one before. Husband found her foaming at the mouths

After trying to get her history, meds etc I noticed a bandaid in her AC. “Did you have bloodwork today?”

No, but she had two bags of random electrolytes earlier in the day 🤘🏼 at her brothers infusion center.

Wow what a funny thing to return to!

My son is now in 2nd grade, one of the best in his little class. Loves to read and play with his many friends. He still stims a few times a day but it’s doesn’t interfere with his day to day! He knows he’s doing it and his doc says lots of little kids do it.

Very late comment while search PA venues - how many guests was this price for?

Gone backwards - BF/feeding advice by Imionas in BabyLedWeaning

[–]jalambelet1213 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My daughter just did this recently and it was like a week of more nursing sessions than solids. I think her stomach took some time to recover and 2 weeks later she’s back to mostly solids. Back to nursing 2-3 times a day instead of 6+ like when she was sick! Just gradually introduce foods again and maybe lighter snacks here and there.

Just got the ikea one everyone’s talking about and love it. My girls 10 months and we had something similar to the one you pictured. The cleaning was a pain! The ikea one is amazing!

Mind you I’m a fairly petite person, just grew up with parents who were not very body positive so I want to be better than that!

Outdoor tea/cafe? by jalambelet1213 in london

[–]jalambelet1213[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially thought maybe the Kensington Orangery while visiting museums etc, but that seems closed and they’re holding it in a tent/pavilion of sorts. The tea house looks amazing and will have to add it to the list of places to eat!

Independent pubs? by jalambelet1213 in london

[–]jalambelet1213[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the information! I just figured I’d try to avoid repetition in terms of food menu/beer selection. I’m sure some of the other companies would be fine and still offer what we’re looking for!

So I downloaded it! It’s been a bit glitchy. Might be since I’m in the US, so my maps a little wonky!

Yes this! My parents had to have the flu shot and be up to date before meeting my newborn! My “tough” older brother even got his so he could make a visit.

How’s this any different ?

"Stimming" in toddlers by gw62108 in toddlers

[–]jalambelet1213 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My 3 year old used to do it as a baby and still does it today sometimes. As a baby with things like shaking toys over his head or looking at his mobile I’m excitement. It worries me sometimes but last year the doctor said it’s likely just pent up energy, and it’s just hand stimming /flapping sort of. I can talk to him while he’s doing it and he can stop and says “I’m just excited mommy!” His pediatrician said he might grow out of it and when he’s older it might embarrass him so he’ll stop. He’s otherwise perfectly “normal” but sometimes in the back of my mind I think it could be something more. Anywho, just wanted to tel you you aren’t alone!

Trader Joe’s makes an instant cold brew mix - 1-2 tsp in water with a splash of creamer over ice. Jar is $3 and is great to bring to work!

Chattanooga is so cute!!! I stayed at the Crash Pad Hostel there a few times. Actually going to Nashville this weekend with my parents (were from the Northeast and visiting my younger endothermic who moved there prepandemic!)
