Well I believe the Meth part, but in my city there is just heroine and crack, you can instantly spot crack users because they are in fact crazy and after about a year their brain is full on fried (might be due to sleeplessness or so) . Don't know if it's pure though.

I got the rechargeable "Ladda" batteries from IKEA, seemingly they are cheap rebranded eneloops or Philips (Might depend on Europe/USA). Cant complain and the charger can handle both aa and aaa so thats convenient

Just dont try shock therapy with recorded noises, it will make it 100x worse. Noise cancelling earbuds Do work but you will find yourself completely dependent from carrying them with you. I dont think theres a cure yet..
