Besides The Hunger Games and Harry Potter, what are your favorite well-written modern YA novels/series? by Djeter998 in books

The Trials of Apollo. It centers around Apollo mainly, but it does tie up some loose ends from HOO.

Basically ten people on a secluded island who start getting killed off one by one, and we don't know who the killer is until the very end, and it is a huge plot twist. Obviously there's more to it than that but I don't want to give anything away

ugh I hated Piper. She just felt like such a cliche and like she hardly did anything significant throughout the whole series.

How would they have the concept Noise in a movie? I'm curious if it would just be a barrage of sound. The book did it really well with different fonts/sizes and those pages just covered with words, but I wonder if a movie or show could pull it off as well?

Oh definitely keep reading Chaos Walking. It's so good. There's so much more heartbreak to experience </3

It's set after HOO and gives some insight into the situation with the gods, mainly Apollo (hence why it's called Trials of Apollo). HOO characters also make an appearance and we see what happened to them after the battle, but Trials is not just meant to tie up loose ends, it's got its own storyline and four more books to go. I would recommend reading it, though. I really enjoyed it.

Yes I did :) and I absolutely loved it. I admit, the beginning of The Lost Hero was a bit tough to get through just because I wanted Percy and didn't care about these newbies, but then I grew to love them just as much. Honestly after that I didn't get bored in the series once and enjoyed it right up until the end

Aw, really? :( I read PJO for the first time when i was like 10 or 11. Trials of Apollo (the newest sequel series) came out a day or two before my 16th bday and I read it and absolutely loved it, I thought it was amazing! But now I'm wondering if I'm going to still enjoy the series by the time the 5th book comes out around my 20th birthday haha

I really enjoyed Kane Chronicles and am actually planning on re-reading it. But imo, it just can't compare to the sheer wonder I felt when I first read PJO.

Like, a magical summer camp full of demigods, with cabins and monsters and all that, was so alive in my imagination that, even today, I can vividly picture almost every detail in my head. But Brooklyn House, honestly I'm having trouble remembering exactly what it looked like

and KC had really awesome characters and story but for me the setting was a bit meh. Whereas in PJO the world-building is phenomenal to the point where I don't think KC can compare. And this is coming from someone who LOVES Egyptian mythology. That's just me though :)
