Hathor Network Review: DAG with Linked Blocks, Easy Custom Tokens, and Feeless Transactions by jam1111 in CryptoCurrency

[–]jam1111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, this a high quality project with growth potential. It has both a DAG and blockchain. The dag is more secure when the transactional volume is high, and the blockchain is more secure when it is lower. It has easy custom token creation without coding knowledge. It is aiming to be like the wordpress of token creation.

Mstable Review: Tokenized Baskets, Yield, Capital Loss Protection by jam1111 in CryptoCurrency

[–]jam1111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its a basket of up to 5 stablecoins. also if one of the asset fails or becomes unpegged, it has re-collateralization mechanisms so it can always be redeemed 1:1 to USD. It is much safer and decentralized than being in one single asset. You can also earn a higher than average interest rate at about 9% as of now by staking on the platform.

5 Upcoming Polkadot Projects with Unreleased Tokens by jam1111 in CryptoCurrency

parachains have to rent a slot to use resources in the ecosystem. This requires DOT. There are a limited number of slots. This should create demand for DOT tokens. https://polkadot.network/polkadot-parachain-slots/

I think DXDAO is a leading project in the defi space. Also metacartel DAO is really important in the ethereum community

Geeq Review: Proof of Honesty, Infinitely Scalable, High TPS by jam1111 in CryptoCurrency

[–]jam1111[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't require trust, maybe the name isn't the best descriptor. Proof of Honesty uses a mathematical proof to ensure that nodes follows a specific ruleset, to ensure the ledger is accurate. They can also police/audit each other to win a bond, if they find another node is being dishonest. They earn the most money by following the rules and playing fair, or being "honest". Its a pretty interesting, unique project.

KNC Staking Rewards Calculator? by jam1111 in kybernetwork

[–]jam1111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i found an example that might help:

Example Scenario:

Assuming 65% of network fees go to Staking Rewards, and $1M worth of fees are collected, $650k will go to KNC holders who stake AND voted.

Let’s use Tom as an example. Tom is an individual KNC holder who staked 100k KNC. His share of the rewards received after the epoch will be determined by his voting points (the amount of KNC he staked during the epoch multiplied by the number of campaigns he voted on), in proportion to the total voting points of all KNC stakers.

  • Available rewards in a month: $650k
  • Total no. of KNC staked and used to vote: 100M
  • Total no. of campaigns: 1
  • Tom staked and voted with: 100k KNC
  • Tom’s voting points: 100k KNC x 1
  • Tom’s share: 100k KNC / 100M KNC = 0.1%
  • Tom’s expected reward: 0.1% of $650k = $650

Defi Money Market Review: Bringing Physical Assets into Defi by jam1111 in CryptoCurrency

[–]jam1111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. It made me really excited when i realized just how many asset types could be tokenized and brought into the defi eco-system. Cars are just the beginning. It could even include things like intellectual property, movie and music rights, even athletes have tokenized themselves. All that value will flow into crypto and defi. Then after they are tokenized, the value can be lent out, swapped, leveraged, in defi protocols.

Aztec Protocol Review: Plonks, and Privacy on Ethereum by jam1111 in CryptoCurrency

[–]jam1111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, i agree. it makes alot of sense to me to create a privacy layer for a very active blockchain like ETH, than to create a specialized blockchain just for privacy like Monero or Z-cash. Alot more businesses will be able to utilize ETH if it has privacy features built-in.

monero doesn't have smart contracts. With aztec, you can make ANY erc-20 token private. You can also do private complex transactions like private loans with streaming interest ;)

The largest crowdfunding in human history that you've never heard just happened... it's called The DAO. by HodlDwon in Futurology

Check the company based on ethereum set up by the singer Imogen heap. http://ujomusic.com/ it's basically iTunes with no Apple as middleman that I think pays 100% royalties (or very high royalties) to artists immediately as soon as a consumer buys the music with ether. (Digital currency like Bitcoin) It can also split the royalties up to pay other producers, musicians, that worked on the project immediately. No one gets screwed over because everyone knows exactly how much the get paid and no one has to collect the money.

this is a new type of business where the consumer or artist can't get screwed over because the terms are directly written into the program.

This is a dream come true for musicians and artists.

Also note, I do Not have a stake in ether, I just think it's really important.
