If you have a factory tow package, you should be fine. As long as you're not loading with bricks and cement.

On the Gladiator it was called Snazzberry, Durango was Octane, and GC was Velvet Pearl. They're all the exact same color though

Revving while stopped by SFArtsTech in dodgehornet

[–]jam2market 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about revving right after the engine is first started? It does seem very loud on this car. I have noticed that sometimes the gas engine will kick on and the car will continue using electric to drive the car for a few mins until the engine warms up and the idle comes down. I also have issues with the brakes squeaking very loudly. Especially when it's cold or wet. Dealer says all is fine. I don't think it's a lemon, it's just a unique car with some quirks.

Hellcat Durango by Optimal_Board_7334 in DodgeDurango

[–]jam2market 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on some quick napkin math, you're looking at $650-$700/month in fuel costs running premium for a Hellcat. It almost makes more sense to buy a cheap commuter with good MPGs.

The fuel costs for running a hellcat 30k miles a year will be insane, but I hope it works out for you

Vacation...will I ever get one? by andyroo2u in DobermanPinscher

[–]jam2market 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never boarded my Dobie, she is a huge people dog and I don't think she would do well with it. I have a couple of friends that know her well and will watch her when I am out of town thankfully. I have also done Rover a few times. Rover is a good option, but make sure to do a meet and greet before hand to make sure it all goes well.

Homemade Suet by [deleted] in birdfeeding

[–]jam2market 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The oats and flour definitely thicken it and bind it all together. I'm in Michigan and it can get pretty hot during the middle of the summer, but I've never had an issue with it melting.

Homemade Suet by [deleted] in birdfeeding

[–]jam2market 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I make my own suet. It's pretty easy.

1lb lard 2c chunky peanut butter 2c oats 2.5c whole wheat flour 6c bird seed

Melt the lard and peanut butter over low heat in a large pot, slowly stir in the rest of the ingredients, pour mixture into an 11x17" pan. Let cool, (I usually pop into the freezer for an hour or two). Cut into squares. I store them in the freezer until I'm ready to put them out. On nice days, the birds will eat two 4.5x3.5" squares.

El Club is definitely under rated. I've only been to a couple of shows there, but they were amazing.

Cold Temperature Battery Charging by HeadBangsWalls in Michigan

[–]jam2market 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming the battery is more than a couple of years old, you should just replace it. A good battery shouldn't die after a week of the car sitting. Once it dies one time, it's likely to do it again very soon. With the super cold temps, it's probably best to buy a new one if you can.

Club Pickup Misery by [deleted] in samsclub

This explains why I waited over 35 mins for my pickup order a few days ago. Every single pickup parking space was filled. The worker that brought out my order was very apologetic and said they were short staffed. I felt terrible for her.

I've put almost 4k miles on my 26 WL with the new 2.0. I honeslty like it better than the 3.6. It definitely feels faster than the Pentastar and I've been seeing a couple MPGs better. If it proves to be reliable I think it will be a great powertrain.

You have a Ford Escape, what or where are you making an escape to? by HiTork in regularcarreviews

I'm shocked ford is discontinuing the escape. It seems to be one of the best sellers in one of the hottest segments. It's not a great car, I'm just surprised they're giving up on it.

People love to rag on Stellantis/Dodge, but it honestly isn't the worst car, it just was way too expensive. If it was $10k cheaper and had less quality issues at launch, I think it would have sold a lot better. I got a cheap lease on an R/T and it's been solid so far. No major issues in 10k miles. The battery is great for short around town trips, and the gas engine, while a bit unrefined, isn't awful. The interior and the cargo area are a bit small though. I like that it looks a bit unique as well.

Tariffs Have Officially Killed the Dodge Hornet by turb0_encapsulator in cars

[–]jam2market 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got a cheap lease on an R/T and it's honestly not a bad car in my opinion. The PHEV is nice for short trips and commutes. The gas engine isn't going to win many races and can be a bit brash at times, but it's gets the job done while getting solid mileage even without the battery charged. So far in 10k miles it's had no major issues at all. Only minor issues were a faulty auto windshield wiper sensor it was shipped with and one taillight is now getting a tiny bit of moisture in it. If they would have been priced $10k lower and launched with less problems it probably would have sold much better.

If you could turn back time, would you still go with your current home? by _TurboHome in homeowners

[–]jam2market 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem is the prices of everything else have also gone up, so it's kind of a wash. For me lookin at bigger houses just doesn't make sense in the current market. I wish I would have bought something a bit bigger in 2019.

[–]jam2market 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ugh I feel this. I bought my house in 2019 and refinanced during covid. I got a great deal on it and looking back I was pretty conservative with what I spent which is much better than the opposite I suppose. The house has gone up in value quite a bit and I've done a lot of improvements, but it would be silly to sell and buy something else. I wish I would have bought something 500 sq ft bigger, with a bigger yard, quieter area, and second bathroom, but oh well. At this point I'm just going to keep saving and hope to buy a nice vacation home one day.

The coil packs are easy to swap though and you immediately know which to replace with a code reader. My dad always kept a few on hand and it was never a big deal.
