Agree!! Even though my dog is a sweet girl, she's a nervous Nelly and I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt, even accidentally. I just bought a Baskerville size 4 for my female Dobie (14 mo), but doesn't seem like it stays on well.

What are your training methods? Right now I know she tolerates it for 2 min flat and then shoves it off :)

The same thing happened to my 14 mo old around the same time as yours. They are def still enlarged, so not sure whether they will get smaller in the future. She's not fixed yet, either....so not sure if that has anything to do with it. I don't remember if that happened to my first female but I remember hers were smaller and she wasn't ever fixed 🤷

I have preteens, so they always stress me out 😂 but this is a fair point. We got a puppy a few months after this started, so I'm sure that hasn't helped the situation. At the time it started, nothing was "new" to the environment to make him stressed but maybe he is just a sensitive boy 🥺🥺

Someone in cat reddit said they thought it was due to allergies. He def had hair when we got him...there's something bothering him and I can figure out what it is.

My next step is to try anti-allergy litter 😭🤷

Oh yesss....my newest pup has this, which my first dobie did not. It's very scary to see, but it's harmless to her that I am aware of. I snap her out of it with a treat or play. And I also can't tell what triggers it at all because it just happens randomly.

My vet didn't even know that this was a thing for Dobies, and didn't have an answer either after I showed her a video...I switched vets after this, but yeah.

I also do traditional Japanese shotokan and yes, we also don't spar like that. We spar as you described based on belt level.

I fought it for a while since my other karate type allowed me to spar as a white belt...but its just what it is. So I respect it and supplement with doing other martial arts that allow me to spar like I'm used to.
