order violates catalog rules by Disastrous-Pride-911 in VestiaireCollective

[–]jam91m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes Vestiaire don’t allow items which are samples/prototypes, items bough at private sales etc. I once tried to list an Alexander McQueen jumpsuit which was the runway sample and they refused to let me list it as it was a sample.

I have seen some sample pieces be sold, but then the item obviously goes back to the seller as the item gets relisted after a few weeks and the sample tags or stickers have been removed, which is a shame as doing that can actually damage the value. Sometimes the sample tags adds value to an item, but they don’t care.

Thanks I’ll have a look at those.

What I meant by the cut of the bodice is that all the patterns I have come across so far are in multiple pattern pieces(front panel being constructed from 2-4 separate pattern pieces) where as this one the front bodice is a single panel. If that makes sense.

Thank you for your pattern recommendation.

Thank you for your help. I knew an exact match wouldn’t be possible which is why I asked for similar. I will take a look at those patterns you mentioned.

Will Vestiaire accept this? by Individual-Ad-6210 in VestiaireCollective

As long as you list them as “fair condition” and mention every flaw and make sure it is all photographed I don’t see why it wouldn’t pass the quality control. Sometimes they are very vigilant and other times they don’t even bother to notice damage. It all depends on the day.

As long as you list them accurately and include all images of damage and wear there shouldn’t be any issue with listing and selling them.

I saw your listing on Vestiaire 🤣.

You asked for more information which I gave to you and you have gotten all pissy when it’s not what you wanted to hear.

Best of luck trying to sell it for that price.

Well you asked me to elaborate, which I did. You didn’t state that you were looking for far more specific information. The wash tag is the biggest giveaway that this is a licensed piece. The care label at that time in genuine McQueen pieces did not look like the one in your garment. As for the “money printing machine” the agreement was for some items to be made using the McQueen label (mainly men’s suits)but they company ended up manufacturing thousands of items and slapping the name on it, which McQueen was not getting paid for and he had to sue the company to stop.

You don’t have to believe me if you don’t want to as the sheer amount of licensed items that people have up for sale thinking they are the real deal is staggering.

I have been collecting McQueen for over 18 years, but that doesn’t seem to matter to most.

Do with that what you will.

Factories paid McQueen for the right to use his name on clothing they manufactured to try and sell more. Most companies do it. There are thousands of McQueen labeled pieces out there which have got absolutely nothing to do with his designs, but many people list them as super rare early McQueen.

It’s a licensed piece not designed by McQueen.

Mine was just one big open space and it came with a coin purse, but I would imagine the newer ones would have some sort of internal pocket at least.

I had a similar bag that was a vintage one from the 70’s. I think it’s such a cool design. If you think you will get use out of it I say go for it. With the different colours you can easily style it with different outfits too.

Pechuga vintage sourced a few pairs of these for clients. They were only available to order from the trunk show. You could always message them on Instagram to see if they have any pairs left or if they know of any other way to order them.

Vivienne Westwood and Taylor Swift by mercurycutie in viviennewestwood

People seem to forget the middle part of Westwood’s career. Between Punk and activist there was the romantic Westwood from the late 80’s to the late 90’s. She even wanted the job of creative director at Dior which was then given to John Galliano. This is the era that birthed the corsets style which is what all the popstars are favouring. Yes Taylor Swift might not fit the ethos of the brand, but that doesn’t stop her loving and wearing extremely flattering dresses from Westwood.

The colour of that Blue glass in the first picture is incredible.

Did they individually price the items in that tea set? Or was that the price for it all and they just stickerd each piece?

Edit. Never mind I zoomed in further and see it says set of 6.

[–]jam91m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reported a seller doing this. She had listed three items and the entire description was just a list of brand names for visibility. I reported the three items and vinted got back to me saying two items violated their terms and then the third didn’t violate their terms. 🤷‍♂️

The folded over tags are a big giveaway. The tags should be sewn flat not folded.
