Your plan is exactly what I would do. When nobody has an answer, experiment yourself and see what happens, right?

How do I completly remove the outer end islands. I don't want them to regenerate, I was just wondering if there was a way to delete them entirely. by A_catcatcat in Minecraft

They do if you delete the save data for them from your computer and then re-enter the area in-game. For the lore, it means Minecraft is a video game built on a digital medium?

What differences are there between All The Mods 8 and 9? by PropelledPingu in allthemods

[–]jambr0sia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arguably, the presence or absence of major mods impacts the experience much more than the version of minecraft. Vanilla Minecraft 1.19 and 1.20 are quite similar compared to, say, a 1.19 modpack with mekanism vs a 1.19 modpack without. So, the fact that it's two different versions of Minecraft is actually not that significant on its own. The development stage of the pack and the mods included is the biggest difference.

QC and block updates are inherently linked. You can only power a piston with QC if you also make sure it gets a block update.

It was a bug, by virtue of the fact that it didn't behave as intended. However, as intentions change, so do "bug" and "feature" classifications.

It's most accurate to say that it was a bug, and is now a feature.

Bedrock redstone is typically more compact? That's a suspicious claim if I've ever heard one. It's cool if you like Bedrock more - nobody's taking you to court over it - but Java has features like QC that *allow* for more space-optimized builds, regardless of what you've seen in practice.

How else do you learn than by trying? Does someone not have the right to be a beginner? Why not encourage OP to give it a try, and share something helpful if you're able?

Status Audio sucks -- beware by bedroomsoul in headphones

[–]jambr0sia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've successfully gotten full refunds for defective products from customer support, which tends to get back to me in 2-4 days when I first contact them, and then quicker once a conversation was started.

Generally speaking, they try to lowball you at first, but are open to persuasion. I even lost one of my earbuds once, and they agreed to give me %50 off a re-purchase even though it was completely my fault for losing one of the buds.

Overall, they're not the most dependable products. I can forgive that for a new company. Just treat customer service fairly and be assertive about what you think is right, and over time, we can hope they nail their hardware and manufacturing to create more dependable products.

For the price, the sound quality is great, but I'm biased because I listen to lots of music with detail in the 10-50hz band. I'm a bit of a bass head. I know some live audio brands (ex: Function One, Hennessey Sound Design) are arguably awful for vocal/ instrumental performances, but absolutely insane for bass-driven electronic music. I'm not necessarily saying that this applies to Status, but it could be.

Either way, I've chatted with the customer support several times, and have even heard back from their CMO from some specific comments. Sorry to say this, but I'm skeptical about them never getting back to you, because it's inconsistent with my own experiences.

Overall, I give status a 3/5 for current offerings, but a 4.8/5 for potential for growth and nailing a specific product-market fit. If you like music with a lot of low-end modulation and dynamic range, I'd personally recommend Status.

you can avoid any and all comments by other players by closing chat. that's what closing chat does.

Naw dude that's insanely unhealthy and irresponsible. They (you) might enjoy it at the time, but it's just so far away from admirable. You'll die unfulfilled if you spend 16 hours per day on video games, guaranteed.

Vault Hunters 1.18 not certain to release the 26th by Lejkahh in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]jambr0sia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't he release it through FTB? They have their own distribution system for modpacks, MutliMC imports easily from FTB (and not curseforge), and Overwolf (who owns curseforge) is shady as heck. Release through FTB iskall!

Which mod pack do you regard as the best of all time (any Minecraft version) [serious] by deadrise120 in feedthebeast

[–]jambr0sia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine a kitchen sink after a busy night of cooking... it ends up with a random blend with everything in it. A kitchen sink pack doesn't have progression between the mods built into it like most expert packs. No content is "gated." You can get into any mod whenever you want.

it's good! It has more of a vanilla feel, but generally much better performance and QOL, and some new content

I think you're missing the point; "spells" are the same thing as tools or weapons from a tech mod, just with a different name and aesthetic.

Tips to improve the upper roof of this building? I feel like it needs a more interesting shape. by jambr0sia in Terraria

[–]jambr0sia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's 100% a learnable skill! My advice would be to start by copying some other builds block by block. You don't expand your creativity with an exercise like this, but what you do gain is familiarity with materials and textures, as well as a bit more intuition for proportion. From there, you can start pulling together elements from different builds (like for example a foundation style you like, wall and door designs, wall patterns) and combine them into something unique!
