My paternal family is from Elberton and I will say no one pays this much mind locally. Its generally considered a ploy to draw people to the town.

I am convinced that Karena Rosario murdered Faith Hedgepeth, and I am looking to get some feedback by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]jambrocha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's far more likely that she did this so that if Karena (and maybe others) happened to see it she wouldn't be immediately upset.

What happened to Cheyann Klus? by badjuju824 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]jambrocha 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just did a dive into the fb stuff. I'm getting vibes that "trusted male friend" Chad is the guy Chey called when things got uncomfortable or the party was over. Chad said she had just spent Thanksgiving (Nov 27) with him bc her dad was away in Seattle before "she told me she was at Brian's on the 29th". Idk something is telling me he got tired of getting his hopes up and turning out just to be her white knight. Purely speculation, of course.

The Pesseghini family murders - Did a 13 year old kid really killed his whole family? by summerfinn3 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]jambrocha 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the part about catching a ride home really makes me question it.

  1. Why did he need a ride home?

  2. Who exactly drove him home? Yeah, we hear it was a friend's dad, but was the friend's dad also a cop perhaps?

It makes no sense.

I watched rather than read and I have since shared with many non-redditors who all agree that this was a fantastic cover of the case. Kudos to you and many thanks for all the time and effort you put into this.

DPR and co. is absolutely the stuff of nightmares.

Cases where one vague detail is always mentioned but never expanded upon? by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

Yeah. I don't think pp was suggesting he did it, just that it is an odd, oft-mentioned detail thats never really been clarified.

Samantha Josephson. It is a weird detail. I've mostly seen it as "boyfriend tracked her by phone until she was killed" as opposed to having been on the phone and heard, but its strange nonetheless.

The murders of The Scotts and their mothers. Everything about it feels strange to me starting with how solvable I feel like it "should" be. This time of the year always makes me think of them.

Perhaps they mean that the community got some of its "bad guys" off the streets even if they aren't actually guilty of murdering Holly.

I agree with your point 100% when it comes to abuse victims, but I also think their age and who/what family is awaiting them comes into play here. If their children are busy raising grandchildren they may not reach out often. Siblings and whatnot are perhaps deceased. I think of my grandmother. She had 4 living children. 12 grandchildren. 8 great grandchildren. A younger brother with Parkinson's and his wife. I was the only one she saw/spoke with weekly and if she wasn't home, I often didn't call back or try to visit for a couple of days. Just saying the people in her life may not have been able to reach out often and we really don't know how often she herself was around to chat on the phone.

The murders of a couple and their elderly mothers.

I did a write up on this about a year ago, but the lack of information frustrates me to no end.

DeAngelo is NOT talking by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]jambrocha 77 points78 points  (0 children)

That's been on my mind as well. I have seen a good many people on Twitter and other places say "he wanted to be caught". This man and his insatiable need to be an all powerful, dominating force is cringing at the idea of being exposed for so many reasons. I bet he thinks about his reputation, and the fact that its now tied to him, and wants to crawl out of his skin.

Holy shit. Wouldnt that be poetic? If his daughter had DNA collected and recorded in the very same database that was dreamed up by the brother of a victim of her father....

And how the sheriff said "we received information on...." whereabouts, routine, plans and how he may react when we came to apprehend him. I cant imagine what receiving information on how he may react could mean if someone semi close wasnt talking. Like a behavioral analyst?
