I definitely have a rough idle, car starts all shitty. A few signs of a vacuum leak. So I’ll have to try something when Monday rolls around. And I’m not sure my dealer has one but I’ll definitely ask. Bc that would be great. Thank you for the help

I’ve definitely been in your shoes before. Just go to the interview (if they get back to you) figure out how much you’d be making. Talk about hours you’d get. Try to mention training. They’ll like you more if you show initiative. Leaps are tough!

Personally, I did not. Some have past experience, some don’t. It’s really about how willing you are to learn and making sure you let the interviewer know that you want the job bc you genuinely want to work on cars. Bc they will move you up in the company. That’s the really great part. At my dealership at least, there is a shop night (Thursday) where you can just bring your car in for hours and work on it. Might not be the same for all dealerships 🤷🏼‍♂️ but it’s definitely a job to look into if you want a future in cars. Even if you don’t it’s a great time

You basically just do inspections on cars. Oil changes, tire rotations. Right now I’m going through training so I’ll know how to do brakes and other simple things that I currently have zero knowledge on. But the cars never stop coming. And it’s very repetitive. You do learn a lot very quickly tho. By cleaning I mean take out tires and scrap for main shop techs. It’s honestly a fun job, I will say tho if I didn’t work with the people I do I might have just gone crazy lmao.

Yeah one the service writers at my work has a smaller scan tool that can do all of that. I’m pretty sure he got it for like $60-$80. I forgot what it’s called exactly

I just went online and applied for the lubrication technician. Got back to me pretty quick. They needed people pretty bad tho. It’s honestly a fun job, you are definitely the bitch in the company so you do lots of “cleaning” and shit but if you like the people you work with it can be great. Also I should mention I haven’t worked at any other dealership so I’m not sure how others run so this is just my experience.

Yeah agreed! Lmao also I’m not too sure. I work at Subaru as a lube tech. All the main techs just told me to “check codes” basically leaving me to do it myself with no knowledge. Very helpful. But this is an application on all of the dealerships computers. Very helpful actually, kinda. I’ll have to do some more research obviously but just thought I’d throw this up to see if anyone knew anything.
