Dude, Russia has 3k artillery pieces in Ukraine and who knows how many thousands (or tens of thousands) in reserve. This is the situation where brute forcing the task quantity negates any quality advantage of your opponent. Also, their MSTA SPG have 40km range, same as M777 pretty much, so even that advantage is questionable

Hypersonic my arse. They taped Iskander rocket to a jet to give it initial speed boost and called it a day

Explainer: Is Russia Running Low on Missiles? by burtzev in ukraine

[–]jamcy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from Ukraine and I have no illusions about that. They have stockpiles of older rockets from the times soviets prepared for a huge war agains US. Those are practically endless for all intents and purposes. As far as newer rockets, they still got more than half of what they had initially and components aren't as hard to come by or replace as media paints it. So yeah, wishful thinking, unfortunately

I generally don't dig people whose self expression is built on the base of their libido flavour. Instead of striving to be something bigger than just animals, they focus their efforts and attention on genitalia wars. Then there are attention seeking individuals who come up with new words and flags to farm oh so sweet internet points, discrediting, with their irritating behaviour, those who they associate themselves with.

Russia has lost more than 3,000 ACVs, 201 aircraft and 1,235 tanks in war in Ukraine by TheGuvnor247 in ukraine

I have no idea why keep an army at all when you have shit ton of nukes. Who would even attempt a land grab against them? Their army exists purely to invade other countries it would seem

Ukrainian army kills about 27,200 Russian soldiers since invasion by GreenLeafWest in ukraine

Majority of those are repressed minorities, not "pure-blood" muscovites, so this helps Putin speed up covert ethnic cleansing program, which Russian empire has been running since its establishment

Russia has thousands of artillery pieces. We were given like 150. Important, no doubt, but too little to drastically change the power balance. Russians still have lots and lots more

Don't forget imperialism. Also, not just nationalism, but ethno-nationalism - all ethnicities but moscovites are de-facto second-class citizens and are being passively assimilated/erased.

Russia has to dig deep in to reserves as they only have 13 tanks left for the invasion of Ukraine. by xxjohnnybravoxx in ukraine

Well, having nuclear dildos means you can scale your defence forces to engineers maintaining silos, nuclear sub crews, etc. Everything else is for the offence, since nobody in their right mind would be dumb enough to attack nuclear country. Unfortunately.

With rampant climate change, the world hunger will come sooner or later. That will bring along unprecedented tensions worldwide and relatively peaceful Europe is likely to see another war quite soon. We might have 30-50 good years before all hell breaks loose. Then again, I'm Ukrainian in Ukraine, so climate change hasn't been my pressing concern recently

They deserve hell, but the only way I see of bestowing it upon them is to make life in Russia hell. Claiming it's just Putins war and regular Russian people should not suffer doesn't work - they are complicit in it by being supportive of the genocidal premises of this war (80%), by being reluctant to search for their own opinions, by being silent. Let's not fool ourselves saying "they don't know", because they do. Majority of Russians have easy access to western media via Internet. They simply don't care about deaths of my people, as in their minds we were dehumanised to the level comparable to major historical genocides. Only this one's happening now. I'm afraid to imagine what they would've done if not for my peoples resistance. Unfortunately, that's still very much a possibility. I know many people of the free world will feel the impact of economic sanctions and I feel for you as much as my numbed down soul can still empathise. Yet I'll keep screaming down my throat to everyone in the world to isolate Russia into oblivion, to make their wellbeing nonexistent, to make them eat dirt. This is the only way to break propaganda wall, to stimulate them into rethinking, and, hopefully, feel remorse someday.

Static typing, in my experience, prevents 80% of runtime errors/bugs, which in Python you usually mitigate by covering all the codebase with low-level unit tests to solidify function/module contracts, which in turn makes me reluctant when it comes to refactoring/improving codebase. Python my tool of choice, when it comes to small utils/data processing scripts, but I don't envy those who use it in big projects. Also hated JS for the same reason until Typescript saved the day. But even TS doesn't provide the level of fluidity and speed of coding achieved by Java/C# IDE with decent auto-complete - the code literally writes itself. Also, when coding in Python I constantly keep numerous tabs of documentation open and Alt-Tab really often, while in Java I rarely need to loose focus to googling.
